What are trains made from?

Trains are made from rolling stock, and here are a few examples of some fairly unusual ones, even in the era from which they were in service.
The Tex Mex hoppers were scanned a couple of years ago before I learned that it's better to save and post them at a higher resolution, but this image was in my rolling stock folder and I thiught that it might be interesting enough to post even as a low res image. When I relocate the neg that I scanned it from, I'll rescan it and then....

MOTHER 3 (マザースリー, Mazā Surī) is a role-playing game for the Game Boy Advance, developed by HAL Laboratory and Brownie Brown, published by Nintendo. It is the third, and supposedly final, game in the EarthBound/MOTHER series, preceding MOTHER 2 (or Earthbound).

It was announced in June 2003 during a MOTHER 1 + 2 television commercial, though details of its development were kept secret. Up until its release, the game remained near the top of Famitsu's most wanted games list. Immediately before its release, MOTHER 3 was the most wanted game in Japan according to Weekly Famitsu.

Super Smash Bros. series

Characters

Originally, Lucas, the main character of MOTHER 3 was supposed to replace Ness in Super Smash Bros. Melee. However, since the Nintendo 64 version of the game was canceled, Ness remained. However, Lucas was eventually confirmed to be in the next SSB game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl (probably to give reference to MOTHER 3 of the Japanese). In addition, New Pork City, a location Lucas and his friends visited in the last chapter of the game, is confirmed to be a stage. The Ultimate Chimera also appears as a hazard on this stage.

Porky Minch's design from this game is also used as a boss in The Subspace Emissary, although he doesn't look as frail as he does in Mother 3, also in The Subspace Emissary (and to a lesser extent New Pork City) The Porky Statue makes an appearance.

Levels

New Pork City from Chapter 8 appears as a level in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. It is a large sprawling stage (similar to in the actual game) that is actually just outside an accurate replica of New Pork city from Mother 3. The Ultimate Chimera and flying Limousine occasionally turn up at some points during brawls.

My Music

Super Smash Brothers Brawl contains various themes originating from Mother 3.

  • Porky's Theme
  • Unfounded Revenge/Smashing Song Of Praise
  • Mother 3 Love Theme
  • You Call This an Utopia?!

Trivia

  • Although MOTHER 3 has only been released in Japan, a fan translation in English has recently been released.
  • Ness' white alternative costume in SSBB resembles Fuel's outfit from this game.
  • One of Lucas' alternative costumes resembles Claus, his twin brother from this game.
