(Figured we could use this page more. Added a few projects that I know that I/other users have been working on for a while. Would prefer not to have to make brand new project articles for the ones I added but I can do so if desired. Also the Smasher project that was originally linked here is extremely old, so I updated it.)

A project is a promotion for extra work to improve pages of a certain type or topic.

Current projects

Project name Relevant links Description Status
Cleanup of the Notable Players sections SmashWiki:Cleanup of the Notable Players sections
  • Trim down the "Most historically significant players" sections of each character page, and verify that descriptions about each players' accomplishments with the character are well-written (not just a list of tournament placements).
Smash 64 and Ultimate have been completed. Most Brawl pages, plus a few Melee and Smash 4 pages, need to be reviewed.
Standardizing Smasher pages SmashWiki:Smasher article guidelines
  • Rewrite the History section of Smasher articles to be less like a news report of all the player's tournament results.

Tournament results on Smasher pages SmashWiki:Smasher Project, SmashWiki:Smasher_article_guidelines#Tournament_results
  • On Smasher tournament results threads, use bold text to highlight all majors, and bold + italic text to highlight all supermajors.
  • List the number of entrants in the "placement" column.
  • If the results page is excessively large, Split results into a subpage, and only keep the most important tournaments on the main article.
Currently in progress, as this is a recent update.
Cleanup of tournament articles SW:TRIVIA (1), Talk page discussion (2)
  • Add a "Summary of events" section to important tournaments (majors and supermajors, etc.) that provides details of important events in bracket, and facts regarding the tournament's historical significance.
  • Trim down trivia sections that are excessively long, and move trivia points to other sections of the article if applicable.
  • EVO 2013 is an example of a tournament page that meets these criteria.

Smash region articles List of superregions + regions needing articles
  • Create articles for all major Smash regions, detailing their competitive history, significant players, and tournaments hosted.
  • Add additional links to region pages from other competitive articles, to improve their integration into the wiki.
Most larger regions in the US + Japan have their own articles, but some smaller regions in the US, plus international regions, still need their own articles. Non-English-speaking regions may require additional attention from residents of those countries.
