Barnstar Substitute

Congrats on the universe project, that was some stellar wiki-work. I don't have a barnstar but I hereby present you with this: i - The Lower-Case I of Pro Impact Approval! Or something! *high five* -- Randall00 Talk 03:44, May 8, 2007 (GMT)

Heh, thank you. I would expect that I'd get right back to work when Brawl gets released (In which case... I hope I've done only 2/3rds worth of the universe coverage! The more universes in Brawl, the better). My ultimate personal hope is that I will have the pleasure to write a universe page on Nintendo's Golden Sun franchise in the future. Of course, if any of us did the work of proper Wiki editors, we'd be citing hundreds of sources for these pages and all that... ergh. Erik the Appreciator 03:51, May 8, 2007 (GMT)
Well thankfully I think citing sources and references is strictly a Wikipedia policy but it's easy to see how it might seem proper just because that is by and large the most vast of all MediaWiki projects. I'm pretty sure you're work still counts as "proper." :^) -- Randall00 Talk 13:31, May 8, 2007 (GMT)
I'm sure, too. Now, I used Wikipedia as an information reference for all these articles, and I believe I have not submitted copyrighted Wikipedia text to this site because it was all carefully compiled info reworded and rewritten to appeal to SmashWiki readers. BTW, is AOTW on the fritz? It's empty on the main page right now. Erik the Appreciator 19:31, May 8, 2007 (GMT)

Rise and shine! Long overdue...

Shiningstar.jpg
Nice work! Your contributions reflect the kind of awesome work we SmashWikidians like to see!
Although the sheer number of contributions you've made is impressive in and of itself, it's the quality that gets me. I don't think the universe ordeal would ever have happened if it weren't for your help and we'd be left with a lot of ambiguity in that area. You know the difference between being bold and being reckless. I'd be happy to have you on the SysOp roster, but I acknowledge that it's not your preference and, in fact, prefer that you continue to contribute on your own terms, as I wouldn't do anything to taint your performance! Huzzah!!

Hee hee! Thanks! And, heh, the way you worded "I don't think the universe ordeal would ever have happened if it weren't for your help" makes it sound like somehow I caused some sort of big problem by trying to help out there. ^_^ (I wasn't even aware there was an ordeal going on before I came along, actually.) And just to clarify my position on sysop-ship: All the various sysop powers are good for combatting vandalism and removing junk articles, but they don't seem useful for a user who specializes in adding content (i.e. me), and being a sysop might actually get in the way because I'd feel somewhat obligated to combat crap edits and malicious intent as part of my focus, which would take away from my real focus. (Although, SmashWiki is not anything like Wikipedia in that vandalism is a constant issue... and I'm just now realizing there ARE ways some powers will help me do what I do, like delete images I upload so that I can reupload them with better names. Maybe I will try for the sysop position. :) ) Thanks again... Erik, Lord of Universes 00:11, January 18, 2008 (EST)
Haha, sorry that was poorly worded on my part; I guess "the universe ordeal" does sound sort of like "the issue" in a negative way, but what I meant to say was "that totally bodacious project." --RJM Talk 13:29, January 18, 2008 (EST)

Pictures of SSB fighters

I looked at your unvierse pages (which look good BTW!) and I noticed you have pictures of the SSB fighters. I'm just curious, did you upload the pictures yourself or is there a site with those pictures? If so, do you mind providing the link to the site with those images? Many thanks! The Magnum Master 15:40, June 19, 2007 (EDT)

The pictures of the fighters as they appeared in SSBM came from the same Nintendorks site as the full pictures of the SSBM fighters used on their respective articles here. The pictures of the original Smash fighters I created myself using the full pictures of the fighters as they appear in articles like Mario (SSB), and a lot of careful PhotoShopping. I hope it's legal to do that. Erik the Appreciator 15:54, June 19, 2007 (EDT)
Ah, okay thanks for the reply! I was just wondering where you got the images from because they were really good images of the SSB fighters and hoped that the website had a picture of the SSB Pokemon. Oh, and thanks again for your help! The Magnum Master 16:13, June 19, 2007 (EDT)
I'm pretty sure one can use PhotoShop to create modified, scaled down versions of the Pokemon images the Smashwiki already has, to achieve much the same effect. It wasn't that hard for me to make these fighter images, personally. Erik the Appreciator 16:15, June 19, 2007 (EDT)

About the Odd Character

Mehehe, look who's here now! Anyway that funny-looking character from the "This World..." pictures has me boggled. Did you notice too that he appears to have a fuse on his head? I'm beginning to suspect that firecrackers may have a bigger role in Brawl than we thought... I made mention of it in the main article, if you'd like to see. Nintenboy01 16:07, July 24, 2007 (EDT)

Ah, welcome aboard. The odd character was of course a big subject of debate on the normal SmashBoards, and of course it can only be mentioned as part of the main game article for the time being, so your edits were ideal. :) Erik the Appreciator 00:05, July 25, 2007 (EDT)
You were also right about one thing, though; on Wikipedia rabid throngs of police-minded editors will revert even the mere mention of the odd purple character, even if it contains zero speculation or POV. But I don't care to challenge them any further. That's why I feel Smashwiki is a better place for dedicated fans of the game. You can be a little looser and more in-universe without fear of INSTA-REVERT!!! Nintenboy01 16:36, July 25, 2007 (EDT)

Kid Icarus (universe)

Hey, I noticed your taking the initiative to seperate the "In Smash Bros Brawl" section of the KI universe article into Characters and Stages, much like all the universe articles have done for SSB and SSBM, while so far the Brawl area of universe articles has been a general information dump. Should I assume that the rest of the universe articles are now going to start following this example? Cause we have enough information on a good amount of the franchises in Brawl to the point where it's definitely seeming like a good idea. -Thores 03:55, July 25, 2007 (EDT)

Upon further viewing, it looks like the KI article has been that was since it's inception. Maybe it's time for the rest to follow suit anyways? -Thores 03:59, July 25, 2007 (EDT)
Actually, that was just me not having decided whether I'll make each section an information dump or if it'll be sectionalized, so I had neglected to standardize them all. If you'd like to sectionalize all the Universe articles based on the amount of information we have now, then that'd be great. Erik the Appreciator 12:35, July 26, 2007 (EDT)

I'd just like to say great job

On creating the stage templates, I thought you deserved to be credited. :) Magiciandude 02:35, July 29, 2007 (EDT)

Thanks, and I'd like to say the same about you and your editing the Stage articles themselves. And I believe there's room for item templates too and maybe Pokemon templates, though those will need some more thinking out...
Does it seem that the Dojo site takes longer to display its updates nowadays? I wonder what could be causing that. Erik the Appreciator 03:07, July 30, 2007 (EDT)
Depends, where you live, I think I saw your "vandalize" (lol) post in the update article saying something from California. Well, your fortunate, because here, in EST, it's around 4:00 a.m.ish when we get the updates. :( Magiciandude 03:55, July 30, 2007 (EDT)
Ah. Nice. (For me.) Erik the Appreciator 04:01, July 30, 2007 (EDT)
I just realize we both have the same first name (if that's your first name), except, my name ends with a "ck". Anyways, it wasn't really worth staying up this late, lol, oh well. Well, g'night! Magiciandude 04:07, July 30, 2007 (EDT)
For me, it was worth staying up till 1, and I'm willing to keep on doing that for the updates if that's when they'll be showing them nowadays. I of course find it surprising that you'd be willing to stay up THAT late for updates on your side, however. Erik the Appreciator 02:59, July 31, 2007 (EDT)

Ike, Fire Emblem Rambling

Sorry about my misplaced comment earlier on Wiki. Anyway I'm very pleased Ike is in Brawl. Also let me act like a commercial for a moment: Due to impatience I went ahead and spoiled myself with some details on Fire Emblem Goddess of Dawn's plot, and let me tell you Erik, if you liked Path of Radiance you DO NOT want to miss this game. It has astounding revelations and shocking surprises, and ties up all the loose ends from the first game. November can't come soon enough (Hopefully we both get Wiis by then). Between this and the Holy Trinity of Mario Galxy, Brawl and Metroid Prime 3 I'm gonna go broke... Nintenboy01 15:15, August 1, 2007 (EDT)

I hear ye, and still dislike how Wiis still aren't friggin available, especially considering my birthday's in a week (August 7; believe it or not, I was born the same day of the year as Jimbo Wales himself). Erik the Appreciator 15:21, August 1, 2007 (EDT)
Who knows? One day you could be destined to be a top member of the Wikimedia Foundation. Perhaps it's Fate that you share a birthday with the respected Jimbo, much like Serge was intertwined with the fate of the world in Chrono Cross. Nintenboy01 16:04, August 1, 2007 (EDT)
It seems checking the date articles at Wikipedia, like "June 4", reveals all sorts of surprising coincidences if you check the article corresponding to the date of your birth. Try looking up your birthday to see what celebrities and maniacs were born or died that day of the year. Here are some other absolutely true stories of mine: my grandmother was born Christmas day (December 25), and both my mother and my aunt share their birthdays with that of Osama bin Laden (March 10). Erik the Appreciator 16:08, August 1, 2007 (EDT)
I was born on March 15, and plenty of infamous/cool events happened that day, like the murder of Julius Caesar, the cinematic release of The Godfather, and the birth of Eva Longoria. That was pretty cool to find out, hehe. Nintenboy01 16:30, August 1, 2007 (EDT)
You know one more thing that's really sad? According to many sources Goddess of Dawn likely started out as a GameCube project, but due to GCN's decreasing popularity they moved it over to Wii instead (much like Super Paper Mario). D'oh!

P.S. Since my Ike prediction came true (I asked a user called a Agreeneyedfox on Wikipedia to comment on the inclusion of my candidates a few days before Ike was made official)I'm bold enough to predict now that Paper Mario, Cel-shaded Link, Orbulon, Lucario and Ridley have a 90% chance of making it in. Our favorite Golden Sun characters may appear too, at least as assist trophies. Nintenboy01 19:35, August 1, 2007 (EDT)

The Subspace Emissary

Looks like my psychic powers of prediction were right on the money! Brawl does have a more fleshed-out single-player mode. I guess the funny-looking robot is just some generic enemy after all. I'm guessing Peach will be a playable character too still. I also have a feeling that MetaKnight could even be the final boss or something in this mode - after all, that's his ship that looms and terrifies the characters. Now I really can't wait till December! I may have to go into suspended animation to survive... Nintenboy01 13:53, August 3, 2007 (EDT)

It seems too much of a stretch for me to assume Meta Knight would be a boss in the Master Hand-sense, though. Maybe he'll be the opponent for Kirby to fight, but for me it's one of those wait-and-see sort of things. Erik the Appreciator 15:24, August 3, 2007 (EDT)
Agreed. On a side note though, all the intro pics look like they may be real-time polygonal footage, not pre-rendered FMV. If you look closely at Kirby you can still see some angles around him when he shakes Mario's hand. Still looks great though. If that's the case this game will be a real graphical treat on Wii (the system we still don't have.) Nintenboy01 16:53, August 3, 2007 (EDT)
I recently added a tiny bit of speculation to the Brawl article here (hopefully it's ok but if it's removed I won't contest it). I actually got this idea from the talk page on the Wiki article. Did you notice that the Halberd appeared and deployed its robo-drones only after Mario seemingly revived Kirby from "death" (ie, being turned into a trophy again)? Perhaps Mario was the one who broke the rules of the World, and the Roboguys are the World's security force or Stormtroopers or something. Chances are this idea has crossed your mind too. And for all we know, Master Hand is behind everything, including the "Rules of the World". Nintenboy01 13:31, August 6, 2007 (EDT)

New Wii

Congrats on finally scoring a Wii. I must say I envy you! I plan to get one sometime in November, although I really wish they'd release a black unit soon. At least now you'll get to partake in the joys of Brawl!

P.S. Be sure to download firmware update 3.0 when you get the chance, it has a lot of useful changes. Also do all your GameCube games run EXACTLY the same way on the Wii? My friend claims that Metroid Prime 2 was less prone to occassional choppiness on the Wii. Nintenboy01 17:13, August 8, 2007 (EDT)

Joys of Brawl? That's not until much later...? You must have meant the joys of Zelda, or WarioWare...
Firmware? What's that do? Even though I scanned through the Firmware article on Wikipedia, I don't see what these useful changes could be... And actually, I meant to say that I placed the order of the system, meaning it'll still be a Wii-k or so before it actually arrives. But I figure all GameCube discs would play just the same on that system, and I don't recall any choppiness on MP2... Erik the Appreciator 02:53, August 9, 2007 (EDT)
There is some mild choppiness in MP2 if you go near a bubble or warp portal and look around it a bit. Also the latest firmware update, version 3.0, adds new Wii channels, a clock on the main menu and supposedly improves the Wii's internal cooling and loading times. In the past, some overheated Wiis suffered damage to the GPU if left on standby for a few hours. This firmware update may help resolve that. A friendly tip from you friendly neighborhood Nintenboy. Nintenboy01 12:41, August 9, 2007 (EDT)

P.S. By the way, if you haven't done so I'd like you to check out Matt's editorial about Nintendo's lack of promotion for MP3 at http://wii.ign.com/articles/811/811682p1.html. It's really quite sad. I must admit that sometimes Nintendo's focus on "casual gamers" instead of us hardcore blokes is getting on my nerves. I can only hope Brawl exceeds all our hopes. Nintenboy01 13:29, August 9, 2007 (EDT)

LUCAS

IGN is speculating that Lucas from Mother 3 may either replace Ness in Brawl or be a new Mother character alongside him. I just noticed that we don't have an article on Lucas yet. Do you think we have sufficient info? I may check GameFAQS and see if they have a story translation or something for Mother 3(dah! Why didn't Nintendo publish an english-language copy?). Nintenboy01 13:27, August 10, 2007 (EDT)

If IGN is speculating on Lucas, then that'd be grounds for mentioning it as a sentence in EarthBound (universe) or something, but currently not as a separate article on SmashWiki. Whereas if the official person Eiji says that he made Sheik and Ganondorf designs for use in Brawl, that's grounds for making articles about them but in nonofficial formats (no putting it in templates yet). If Dojo profiles Donkey Kong as a playable character in Brawl, his article is fully constructed with inclusion in all the relevant templates.
Hey, that system would make a swell entry in SmashWiki content policy pages! :D Erik the Appreciator 02:45, August 11, 2007 (EDT)

I appreciate it

Yeah, I know the descriptions are not the best, so I don't mind any improvements! :-) And if you want me to, I can just leave the character descriptions blank for you to go in and edit later.ProudNintendofan 14:50, August 12, 2007 (EDT)ProudNintendofan

Thanks, but that's not necessary; I prefer modifying content over creation from scratch anyway. Or, if you prefer, you could focus only on the gameplay-related sections and plop something in the Character Description as an afterthought. Erik the Appreciator 15:15, August 12, 2007 (EDT)

Here's a true story that I appreciate: For the past twelve weeks, I've heard most of the music files posted on DOJO, but I was never able to hear the first Battlefield music posted on day 1 until just now, when I went onto the British version of the site and my browser accepted the streaming of the music at long last (it just wouldn't display the music on the American site no matter how hard I tried). So... it really is good music. It gets me all the more anticipative of the game. :) Erik the Appreciator 17:40, August 12, 2007 (EDT)

What The...!?

Could our pal Kirby have inspired this fellow? Nintenboy01 21:03, August 12, 2007 (EDT)

Since it's a YouTube video, and my dial-up browser has a hard time with videos (remember the Subspace Emissary update when I was willing to resort to ask you to describe it for me ^_^), I only got the first frame of it... But that image is amusing nonetheless. Erik the Appreciator 03:03, August 13, 2007 (EDT)
If you get a chance to go on a broadband connection, try and check it out. It gets really amusing later on. Oh, and true story: Yesterday, my aunt mistakenly gave me a Nyko Wiimote Charging Dock as a surprise gift, but I don't have a Wii yet! Oh well, at least I won't have to worry about batteries anymore... Nintenboy01 16:54, August 13, 2007 (EDT)

The Ancient Minister

Heya Erik, I was just wondering, did you intentionally put in a reference to Transformers in the Ancient Minister's article? Hehehe. I wonder if he and his goons are really robots though. They kinda remind me of the Heartless in Kingdom Hearts, or maybe even a modern version of Final Fantasy's Black Mages. Nintenboy01 00:38, August 24, 2007 (EDT)

Er, nope. Didn't have Transformers in mind at all when I made that edit. :/ Erik the Appreciator 03:14, August 24, 2007 (EDT)
Ah, I see. Quite a coincidence though, since you mentioned the Ancient Minister as being a robotic entity and, in the words of Optimus, "More than Meets the Eye". Nintenboy01 17:01, August 24, 2007 (EDT)

A Radiant Beginning

It looks like Goddess of Dawn is gonna be called "Radiant Dawn" in the US. I need some help fixing this up on related articles here (mostly on Ike, but you also may have done others I don't know of). Thanks! I also watched an in-depth trailer too; finally saw what the Wolf Laguz look like, and it seems some units now have the ability to climb over walls. Pretty cool. Nintenboy01 00:58, August 26, 2007 (EDT)

Radiant Dawn certainly fits in my opinion. I believe I only mentioned the game's title in Ike and Fire Emblem (universe) though... Currently I'm keeping away from any trailers about the game to avoid spoilers. Also: Today's update is the first time I ever saw curry, in picture form or otherwise. Personally, I always thought it looked like soup in a bowl... Erik the Appreciator 03:16, August 27, 2007 (EDT)
By the way, I apologize if I spoiled anything for you when I first mentioned the Wolf Laguz to you several months ago. Although I don't think it was really a MAJOR spoiler since many scans and ads for the game in Japan featured the Wolves prominently, even before the game was released. At least you can get psyched up, knowing there's a new tribe. I wonder if they hate the Cat tribe? Hehe. Nintenboy01 17:53, September 3, 2007 (EDT)
Don't worry about the wolf laguz, knowing of the existence of a new laguz faction is helpful in making the new game seem enhanced from a gameplay perspective. It's how the wolves factor into the story that I'm making sure I find out only with the game's stateside release. :) Erik the Appreciator 02:59, September 4, 2007 (EDT)
By the way, did you also notice that the flag insignia in the Castle Siege stage looks kinda similar to Daein's flag? Hmm, I wonder if Ashnard or The Black Knight is in the game... Nintenboy01 17:10, September 4, 2007 (EDT)
Way back then on Wikipedia's Brawl article, that was debated and it was pretty much concluded that it shouldn't have been considered the Daein Crest because it's not completely similar. And as Castle Siege was revealed to represent only Fire Emblem in general, it sounds like they made the right call. Erik the Appreciator 03:02, September 5, 2007 (EDT)

Question

Hey, I finally did something new for the character pages, such as adding the character history for Samus. I did it a little similar to how you do your character histories, but I don't think their quite up to your standards yet. So, feel free to go back in and edit mine with more detailed info when you get the change. Thanks. ProudNintendofan

My standards? Yours is quite good if I do say so myself. Sometimes I do what I think is a bad habit of mine to cram almost unrelated information into giant paragraphs; for all I know, having it in shorter and more numerous paragraphs like the way you did it is the superior method. But yes, I will feel free to do it, but whether I'll actually put in info more detailed than what's currently in there is another question. Erik the Appreciator 02:48, August 28, 2007 (EDT)

Special Moves

Meh, I can't believe Charizard knows Rock Smash! It would have been better if it knew Seismic Toss or something instead, but oh well. And about the curry thing, I agree. I used to picture curry as some sort of goopy stew in a bowl before, not a rice topping. Nintenboy01 18:09, August 30, 2007 (EDT)

You are my GOD

Not literally, of course. ;) Seriously, though, you're awesome. Were I half the editor you were, this place would have 500% more content. Keep up the good work and all that.

Also, I consider myself to have a decent library of Nintendo-related knowledge. Mind if I help you out with adding Character Histories to PC/AT/Pkmn pages? WarxePB 23:18, September 12, 2007 (EDT)

Aww, the appreciation. Heh. Seriously, thanks for that and also for offering to do the character histories; I'm actually being quite lazy in not doing any of that nowadays. Erik the Appreciator 03:01, September 13, 2007 (EDT)

so how would i go about becoming an admin?

i don't want to run around screaming out that i'd be a good admin. i want to show that i've helped out the site. i'm always removing vandalism, adding delete tags to bad/joke pages, and cleaning up and rewriting poorly written pages. the problem is, nobody seems to notice (or care). i feel that i'd be responsible enough to deal with the problems in the site, as well as be on often enough to actually do something. you seem to have a better idea about this process than anyone else i've talked with. any suggestions or qualifications i need to do? FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 22:36, November 14, 2007 (EST)

But..but..Erik's not even on the list of admins. Good luck with the quest, but like I said, I've been trying for like six months now. :^) --RJM Talk 22:40, November 14, 2007 (EST)
You see RJM? this exactly what I was talking about. --Fandangox 22:41, November 14, 2007 (EST)
Oh yes, every talk page you can find probably has a SysOp question or two. The website doesn't exactly make it clear who to talk to about that sort of thing. Or provide such people at all, really. --RJM Talk 22:45, November 14, 2007 (EST)
Heh heh heh, thanks for consulting me on all this, even though I'm not an admin. For what it's worth, I personally think you've shown good adminship potential, and that's actually the reason why I figured it'd be helpful if I provided some of my Wikipedia observations right then and there in the first place. ;) What I had said was based on what I've seen on Wikipedia RFAs (Requests For Adminship). In one case I saw an eager user named HighwayCello applying for adminship who received an oppose vote that said something like "Hmm, I always felt more confortable with more held-back users", and that makes me think people would pretty much have to have much the same viewpoint on admins in general. Anyway, not to worry, I think you'll have something going some time soon.
BTW: WHAT!?!? I thought you were an admin, Randall! Well, hey I guess that proves your point about the website not being clear, doesn't it? :P Erik, Lord of Universes 02:27, November 15, 2007 (EST)
Everyone thinks I'm an admin, but despite the contributions (and despite continually proving my own points about it!), the only request of mine that SWF has ever answered was allowing me "Tournament Director" memberships on the forums. I can post on the calendar! ....woohoo?? --RJM Talk 16:59, November 15, 2007 (EST)

Sysop Nominations

I honestly think you're the best contender for the recently opened Sysop position. You should nominate yourself. -Thores 19:48, November 20, 2007 (EST)

Thanks for that, that was really nice and means a lot to me. :) That said, I'd opt not be a sysop at any wiki if given the chance because I'd really rather not put myself in a combatant's stance against psycho vandals like that one anti-Geno pro-Ridley guy that went on a rampage a couple days back. I would frankly take this opportunity to try and get Silverdragon adminship so that she can combat malicious users the way she's always wanted, so I can focus more on making addition-only edits. And even if vandals weren't an issue, I can't see anything about my editing focuses on this wiki (adding character descriptions and update) that can be done easier if I had sysop powers. But again, thanks very much for the thoughts. Erik, Lord of Universes 02:18, November 21, 2007 (EST)

"With this, only Sonic and Snake's Final Smashes remain"

Only if you're talking about the newcomers, because we still have to see Zelda's FS. :P Magiciandude 17:15, December 6, 2007 (EST)

(headdesk) Of course... Maybe I should stick to just making a groanable pun in an edit summary every single time there's an update. :P Erik, Lord of Universes 02:02, December 7, 2007 (EST)

Brawl Central

Hey, I'm always creating articles in the SmashWiki: Article requests and one of those requested articles was Brawl Central, because no one never heared of it, I erase it from the list, but I see one of your post and you mentioned it, what is that?--Fandangox 16:36, January 4, 2008 (EST)

Apparently it's the one big and great Brawl fansite that people go to in between DOJO updates because the site is "The Most Knowledgeable Brawl Source on the Web!". Having learned of it recently, I took a look and saw that might be true because it both summarizes and rephrases each update and provides news on every bit of new Brawl content being revealed outside DOJO. Here's a link. Erik, Lord of Universes 02:21, January 5, 2008 (EST)
Thanks , I will create the article. (how do you know so many things?)--Fandangox 14:23, January 5, 2008 (EST)
One of my more spirited associates in Golden Sun wiki-editing told me about it on a forum after I was recently startled by her claim that she never looks at DOJO itself. The fact she only needs to look at Brawl Central instead is pretty much the first thing that proves to me that site is a valid Brawl news source. Erik, Lord of Universes 14:44, January 5, 2008 (EST)

Great Thanks

Gracias for merging that article. I have learned something new from that, so thanks again. --Oxico 16:52, January 7, 2008 (EST)

And thanks to you too for your comment on the Meta Knight mask's talk page; I forgot that the Sony PSP has web-browsing capabilities. (I've yet to use any game system for online anything). And here's another thing I'm glad to teach you: You should always post talk page comments onto the bottom of the page like this. :) Erik, Lord of Universes 16:56, January 7, 2008 (EST)

Sysops nominatios

-The following is a message from the gerency-

  • Because of your work, everyone thinks you are a Administrator, that leads to confusion and problems, so I say why wont you go and nominate for Sysops once for all? so we can all stop confusing our selfs.

Thanks, The Gerency.--Fandangox 00:27, January 18, 2008 (EST)

Hmmm! Wasn't aware of that issue... So that makes me think more than before. My actual honest viewpoint is that it does not matter to me whether I'm a sysop or not, and I mean that in the sense that I wouldn't mind it at all if I AM. So maybe I will consider it. (If anyplace, this wiki is far preferable to Wikipedia as a place to be a sysop at.) And actually, now that I'm thinking about it, there ARE some ways sysop powers would help (if I uploaded an image but misspelled its name, I can delete it and reupload it properly...!) Thanks for the encouragement. :) Erik, Lord of Universes 00:34, January 18, 2008 (EST)
No problem, you are one of the users always improving this wiki.--Fandangox 14:49, January 18, 2008 (EST)

Likely Characters in Brawl

Hopefully you won't get angry coz this is kinda forum-ish, but did you see the possible character leak on IGN of the final Japanese copy of Brawl? Sadly it looks like Ridley and Megaman won't be in, but at least it appears that Ganondorf, Ness, K. Rool, Bowser Jr., Marth, Captain Falcon and even Black Shadow and Lucario will be in. Shame that Samus may still be the sole representative of her series. Nintenboy01 14:16, January 22, 2008 (EST)

Haven't seen anything like that, but I guess I should check for it. (We already know about Lucario/Ness/Jigglypuff, though...) Erik, Lord of Universes 01:49, January 23, 2008 (EST)

Congratulations

You are now a Sysop, congratulations! Bonko24 20:20, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Need some help

Hello, I'm Kaz... so right to it. I have this problem with one guide author, he ask me to give some credit, because i'm going to take some of his info. And i have no ide what to do - Kaz (TalkContributions ) 04:19, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

First off, don't take it. Paraphrase it, and then say that he said it. For example, I said "The sky is thick with clouds and dark and blue." You could then turn around and say that "The sky is dark, blue, and cloudy, as stated by Sky2042." It is more complicated than that, but that should be satisfactory for the guide author. --Sky (t · c · w) 05:20, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Definitely true; Any wiki, regardless of whether it's on Wikipedia or Wikia or not, is obligated to not plagiarize word-from-word from any person or group's work. Now, if you're refering to the music gameFAQ for information on music origins, and let's say it says something like "This music comes from Path of Radiance which plays whenever Ike battles the Black Knight", it's perfectly fine to write in our article "This music comes from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, where it was originally used as a battle theme that plays whenever a battle involving the Black Knight occurs." Same info, just differently worded for the sake of being different from everyone else on the Internet. :) Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 07:21, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

What's up with Merges?

Hello there, is there any person in charge of the merges? because they are pilling up and some of them have been there for a while... :Category:Merge - Kaz (TalkContributions ) 22:37, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

I dunno, I don't keep track of or pay attention to the merge pages at all... Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 00:40, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Your Opinion

Hi Erik, I've been meaning to ask you... Is Brawl really all you hoped and dreamed it was? I definitely like it, even if it's not hugely different from Melee. Nintenboy01 22:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

About 90% what I hoped for. :) When Isaac wasn't in the final roster I was crushed when it looked like Golden Sun wasn't going to be in the game at all, but that was before it was revealed he was an Assist Trophy and a collectible trophy and there was Golden Sun battle music. The one thing about Brawl that's not so hot are the load times, but it's a game to live by regardless. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 23:40, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations!!! times 2!

User: Yowvapa

I think he ness a waring, or a temporal ban, he have been editing a lot of articles removing a lot of information, we have to do something.--Fandangox 01:29, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, I was afraid this would come up if I became sysop... Maybe I'll look into it, but if I don't do anything some other admin will. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 02:50, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
On second thought, I won't stand for removal of character description sections and practical info. :) Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 03:05, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I was going to tell this to RJM, but I think he havent and wont show anymore.--Fandangox 03:58, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Im sorry...

--17:41, 10 April 2008 (UTC)~ Why is that the SSBB Launch Center Character section based completly off a persons opinion? I edited Yoshi and Mario, abut I dont have the Time or patience to deal with everything this idiot did. I just need help.

Hmm! I've never bothered looking at the so-called "launch center", but now I believe I'm going to do some editing of that page sometime soon. Erik Jensen (Appreciate me here!) 17:49, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
