Ravio & Sheerow are playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Dream, representing the The Legend of Zelda universe. They were confirmed on December 14th after DatNuttyKid watched Ravio's fake leak for SSB4 and decided he was an amazing concept.

Attributes[edit]

Ravio battles with Link's powers from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, such as turning into a painting and the many items Ravio rents/sells to Link throughout the game. He is also joined by his pet bird Sheerow, who assists him in certain attacks, but is mostly there for aesthetic purposes.

Moveset[edit]

Standard Attacks[edit]

  • Neutral: Sheerow rams the opponent.
    • Combo: Sheerow rams, Ravio punches, then they both attack at the same time.
  • F-Tilt: Ravio kicks.
  • U-Tilt: Ravio swings his arms over his head.
  • D-Tilt: Sheerow rams diagonally down in both directions.
  • Dash: Ravio dives forwards, faceplanting.
  • F-Smash - Sand Rod: Ravio pulls out the Sand Rod and uses it to create three blocks of sand. These stop attacks, and if an opponent is standing where they appear they are blasted upward.
  • U-Smash - Fire Rod: Ravio pulls out the Fire Rod and uses it to create a tornado of fire above his head, which traps opponents and flings them away at the end of the attack.
  • D-Smash - Ice Rod: Ravio pulls out the Ice Rod and uses it to create two ice blocks that drop on either side of him, freezing opponents they collide with.
  • N-Air: Ravio spins around.
  • F-Air: Sheerow dashes forward.
  • B-Air: Ravio spins while punching behind himself.
  • U-Air: Sheerow dashes upward.
  • D-Air: Ravio pulls out the Hammer and falls downward, functionally similar to Link and Toon Link's down aerials.
  • Grab - Hookshot: Ravio uses the hookshot to grab the opponent. It is slightly shorter than Link's and Toon Link's, but can still work as a tether recovery.
    • Pummel: Sheerow rams the opponent.
    • F-Throw: Sheerow rams the opponent, releasing them from the hookshot and sending them flying a short distance.
    • B-Throw: Ravio swings the hookshot back, sending the opponent flying backwards a short distance.
    • U-Throw: Sheerow carries the opponent upward before dropping them.
    • D-Throw: Ravio turns into a painting on the floor, dropping the opponent in the process.
  • Floor-F: Ravio swings the Hammer as he stands up.
  • Floor-B: Ravio swings the Hammer as he stands up
  • Floor-T: Ravio swings the Hammer as he stands up.
  • Edge: Ravio jumps up and then throws the Boomerang.
  • Neutral Special - Bomb: Ravio pulls out and throws a Bomb. Unlike Link's version, this bomb is thrown immediately and explodes immediately on impact with anything.
    • Custom 1 - Nice Bomb: The bomb looks like a Nice Bomb. It isn't thrown as far, but the explosion is larger and does more damage.
    • Custom 2 - Bow: Ravio uses Link's neutral special.
  • Side Special - Retrieval: Sheerow flies a short distance forward. If he hits an item or an enemy holding an item, he will take it and carry it back to Ravio, who will grab it.
    • Custom 1 - Speedy Retrieval: Sheerow flies much faster and does a small amount of damage, but cannot take items from enemies.
    • Custom 2 - Boomerang: Ravio uses Link's side special.
  • Up Special - Tornado Rod: Ravio pulls out the Tornado Rod and uses it to boost himself upward. The rod also does damage.
    • Custom 1 - Nice Tornado Rod: The Tornado Rod creates a gust of wind on either side of Ravio, which pushes opponents away, but he is not lifted as high.
    • Custom 2 - Tornado Spin: Ravio spins the Tornado Rod like Link's up special, functioning identically.
  • Down Special - Hammer: Ravio swings the hammer to the ground. Anyone it hits will be buried.
    • Custom 1 - Nice Hammer: The hammer causes a shockwave, stunning anyone nearby similar to a POW Block, but does less damage.
    • Custom 2 - Hero Bomb: Ravio uses Link's down special.
  • Final Smash - Powers of Lorule: Sheerow dashes forward. If he hits an opponent, a cutscene starts similar to Duck Hunt or Captain Falcon's final smashes, which shows Ravio posing with Hilda and Yuga. The Lorulean Triforce appears behind them, and they all attack at once (Ravio tosses bombs, Hilda lifts the opponent into the air, and Yuga blasts them with an energy ball from his staff.) The opponent is then sent flying, almost always a OHKO.

Taunts[edit]

  • Up Taunt: Ravio takes off his mask and nods towards the screen.
  • Side Taunt: Sheerow flies in a circle around Ravio, who pats him.
  • Down Taunt: Ravio pulls out his bag and peeks into it.

On-Screen Appearance[edit]

Ravio walks in as a painting before jumping into 3D.

Idle Poses[edit]

  • Ravio adjusts his mask.
  • Sheerow flies back and forth behind Ravio.

Victory Fanfare[edit]

The boss victory music from A Link Between Worlds.

Victory Poses[edit]

  • Ravio removes his mask and smiles.
  • Ravio jumps up and down.
  • Ravio poses with Hilda and Yuga, the Lorulean Triforce behind them.

Reveal trailer[edit]

His trailer is identical to the fake leak of him from Smash 4, but with his new attacks, animations, costumes, etc.

Trophies[edit]

Ravio
This strangely rabbit-like man moves into Link's house during the events of A Link Between Worlds and turns it into an item shop! He is very protective of his bag, and seems oddly familiar. He is joined by a small, white, bird-like creature that he calls Sheerow, who will retrieve any rented items when Link dies. The question is, why doesn't Sheerow help Link?

Ravio (Alt.)
The items Ravio rents out to Link are the same items he uses in Smash! The Fire, Ice, and Sand Rods serve as his smashes, the Hookshot is his grab, and the Bombs, Hammer, and Tornado Rod serve as his special moves. He can even use Link's Bow, Boomerang, and Bombs! Do all Loruleans have the same special attacks as their Hyrulean counterpart...?

Alternate Costumes[edit]

RavioCostumes.png
  • Default
  • Green - Ravio's clothing is based on Link's green clothes, while the Rupee on his belt is red, and when he removes his mask his hair is orange like Link's. Sheerow's coloring is based on Navi.
  • Blue - Ravio's color scheme is based off of that of the Lorulean Thief Girl. The Rupee on his belt not only matches the yellow threads on Thief Girl's tunic (which the belt is colored after), but is also a Gold Rupee, the most expensive Rupee in the game, which may refer to the Thief Girl's greed. When he removes his mask, his hair is pink like hers. Sheerow's coloring is based on Stalblind, the boss of the dungeon Thief Girl is found in.
  • Yellow-Green - Ravio's color scheme is based on Sahasrahla, an elder from A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds. When he takes off his mask, his hair is white, like Sahasrahla's. Sheerow's coloring is based on the Hint Ghosts that appear throughout the game.
  • Green - Ravio's color scheme is based on the Flute Boy from A Link to the Past. When he takes off his mask, his hair is brown, like the Flute Boy's. Sheerow's coloring is based on the Flute Boy's pet duck.
  • Brown - Ravio's color scheme is based on the Blacksmith from A Link Between Worlds. Sheerow's color scheme is based on Gulley, the Blacksmith's son.
  • Pink - Ravio's color scheme is based on the Mother Maiamai from A Link Between Worlds. Sheerow's color scheme is based on the younger Maiamai.
  • White - Ravio and Sheerow's color schemes are reversed, with Sheerow being purple and Ravio being white.
