M-Maya?! is Phoenix Wright's input special move.
Overview[edit]
By inputting a quarter circle input on the controller (↓ ↘ → ) and then pressing either attack or special, Phoenix jumps in surprise as his assistant Maya Fey appears on the battlefield to perform one of two moves.
If the attack button is pressed, Maya will run directly in front of Phoenix, and then hold her arms out and create a magical shield in front of her. Upon creating the shield, she will stand in place for a few seconds, falling over and running off once the timer has elapsed. While the shield is up, if an opponent attacks Maya, they will be pushed back a short distance. If a projectile comes in contact with the shield, it will be reflected.
If the special button is pressed, Maya will instead run forward, tripping after taking a few steps and sliding forward after landing on her face. Maya has a simple hitbox while sliding. Afterwards, she gets up, dusts herself off, and then runs away.
If Phoenix is in Turnabout Mode, summoning Maya with the special button will instead have her perform Steel Samurai: Maya Smelting!. With this move, Maya runs forward, swinging her arms in a circle and carrying any opponent hit with her along her path. At the end of her run, she trips and falls over like she does in the normal version of her attack, and then runs off.
Maya can only be on-screen doing one of these moves at a time, and Phoenix cannot summon her again until Maya has finished running off at the end of one of her moves.

Origin[edit]
Maya Fey is Phoenix's long-time legal assistant, and younger sister to his mentor, Mia Fey. The two of them met when Maya was accused of Mia's murder, and he defended her from the charges. They have been practically inseparable ever since, and Maya is always close by Phoenix, ready to help him with whatever his current case or investigation might require of her. Maya is also a powerful spirit medium, which reflects in how she uses magical powers in Ultimate.
