The Off-Season was a Super Smash Bros. Melee super regional tournament held on October 15th-16th, 2022 in Arlington, Texas. There were 8 players invited to the final bracket, and 8 players qualified to the final bracket through an open bracket.[1] The 16 players played in a double-elimination singles bracket. The tournament had a combined $25,000 prize pool: a $23,000 prize pool for the top 8 of the singles bracket, and $250 and a pair of Oakley sunglasses for each of the 8 qualified players.[2][3] The winners of the singles Redemption Bracket (Slowroll) and 3v3 crews won free entry to one LTC event each. The winning team in doubles won a pair of matching controllers from Top Notch Controllers. The event raised $45,000 by the end of October 15th and $65,106.50 at the end of the event, reaching the charity milestone of Mute City enabled as a counterpick stage starting with the final bracket, and while it didn't happen, tequila shots before Grand Finals was reached.[4][5] Wizzrobe counterpicked to Mute City in Winners' Semis, and Axe counterpicked to Mute City in the last game of Losers' Semis and Losers' Finals. The event was a retro-themed charity fundraiser event in support of Movember that also featured a Call of Duty: Black Ops II invitational, a FIFA 06 celebrity showmatch, retro game speedruns, and Pokémon card openings.
