Combo Breaker 2015 was a fighting game tournament held in Rosemont, Illinois, on May 22nd-24th, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare, organized by Richard "The Hadou" Thiher. It was the spiritual successor of the Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament series, after its director Adam Heart decided to retire the tournament in 2014.[1][2]
The tournament featured more than fifteen games on its lineup, including Melee and Smash 4[3][4], handling both tournaments were directed by Juggleguy and D. Disciple, two widely known community members and tournament directors, while a dedicated live stream channel was handled by the VGBootCamp crew. On March 27th, it was announced that a $1,000.00 pot bonus was added to the Smash 4 Top 8, by Gaming Generations, one of the event's main sponsors and equipment supplier.[5]
