Should it maybe read "This article or section"? so it can be used just for one section? {My name is Miles, and I approve this message.} 21:27, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Can we make this template a little less ugly? Firstly the text doesn't fit inside the template, and secondly how does green, yellow, and Kirby make a good template? Baltro [ talk ] 03:57, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

First, the text fits on my screen; are you using an odd screen resolution? That could be the problem.
Second, I didn't design the template originally. I think, however, that the formatting works out decently well (and the Kirby trophy picture from Melee keeps it Smash-related!). Feel free to suggest an alternative here, and I'd consider it. Miles (talk) 21:38, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I know you personally aren't responsible, but in my opinion the template is too bulky and too bright. The image makes it big, and, come on, seriously. Yellow on green? How about something like this?

I changed it some. Thoughts? Miles (talk) 22:26, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Much better than mine. The blue matches the link. I guess I just can't stop thinking about black and white. Do you think this version is suitable enough to replace the old one? Baltro [ talk ] 22:32, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Hmmmm... but I like how the current one brings color to the picture-less pages, and I think I'd still prefer that, but this would be the best alternative, I suppose. Miles (talk) 22:35, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
I just think the current is way too distracting. ßALτʀο [ ŧαɭƙ ] 22:44, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
I disagree; also, the symbols in your signature, while nice, are very distracting. Miles (talk) 22:49, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, if we had more opinions than just us two, we might actually get somewhere. At least we have the alternative here. And I plan on changing the signature more in the next few minutes. BALτʀο [ ŧαɭƙ ] 22:54, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Also, I apologize, above, by the text not fitting, I meant that it looked bad with the right-alignment and <br> halfway through. BALτʀο [ talk ] 22:59, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Proposal for new template for missing hitbox visualization[edit]

What the title of this section says. A lot of pages in the images needed Category are there simply because they're a move page missing a single hitbox gif, like this, sometimes with a user-added message such as "Missing hitbox visualization" or "Need hitboxes". It would make more sense to me if every page like this had a standardized banner. I think my template skills are advanced enough to the point where I could do it, too. Something like this:

ImageNeeded.png This article is in need of additional animated hitbox images.
If you have a good gif for this article, upload it here.

If we did add this, then it would probably be enough to name it something like ImageHitbox IMO, to match the simple naming scheme of the other message templates. Also, we should probably add a flag to change the message for still hitbox files needed (such as for projectiles), something like anim=f, so that the message changes to in need of additional hitbox image screenshots. Addendum: It'd probably be a good idea to make a new category for articles that we add this hypothetical template to, as well. Something like Category:Articles needing hitbox images, which would be a subcategory of Articles in need of images, similar to how Articles needing unavailable images is a subcategory. Thread bump - if I don't get any replies within a week, I'll take that as tacit approval. Already started work on it here. Mariogeek2 (talk) 15:53, July 28, 2025 (EDT)
This is unnecessary complication of the template. Also while it may be acceptable to pass proposals that never got a response after a long enough time has passed, you do need to exhaust getting people's attention on the proposal to be sure that it's actually a matter of no one caring enough to oppose it rather than no one having saw the proposal; making only a single talk page bump and never bringing it up in the wiki's Discord server is not sufficient. Additionally, as you are not an admin, you should not be passing proposals on your own, especially those that do not have not a clear obvious consensus towards it; if there is a stagnant proposal around that you think should be passed, bring it directly to an admin. I don't use Discord; I guess this is as good a reason as any to dust off my old account and get the PW reset. Also, my b, I thought I had bumped this twice. I see one of my supposed "bumps" was just an edit. Also also, if any of my talk page proposals don't get any traffic, I'll take your advice and bring them up on your talk page (or one of the other admins). In fact, I can do it right now :) Mariogeek2 (talk) 11:55, July 31, 2025 (EDT)
