Do tournaments require Pause to be turned off? If anyone knows, they should add it to the article. WaluigiIsAwesome 19:01, January 3, 2007 (GMT)

I wouldn't know, but I think some do because it can easily be used to time off other people's combos and ruin them. You wouldn't want to be in the middle of a combo and have someone pause and unpause it just to ruin you, would you? Zordon123456789mlw7 (talk) 23:05, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

Move proposal[edit]

Strong oppose. This is again the name of a feature and renaming the article is not only incredibly moot, but probably also pointless as well. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:48, 27 February 2018 (EST)

Oppose Are you fucking serious, Ac2k? St. Reggie, Leprachaun 23:46, 27 February 2018 (EST)

Do not personally attack others. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 01:50, 28 February 2018 (EST)
That's not what a personal attack is. Harsh language does not automatically equate to a personal attack unless the person is directly insulting the user in question, which this post is not doing. Don't accuse people of using personal attacks if you don't know what they are. Awesome Cardinal 2000 13:57, 28 February 2018 (EST)

Oppose I'm not going to rename it and that's pointless Dragonfirebreath25 (talk) 00:12, 28 February 2018 (EST)

I'll just point that the first sentence of the article uses the word "Pausing" instead of "Pause". Awesome Cardinal 2000 00:46, 28 February 2018 (EST)
In addition, the first word of every section and all but one image caption is "Pausing" (even if you discount the section I recently added in), which seems to indicate that the article is mainly about the action, not just the feature. Awesome Cardinal 2000 00:53, 28 February 2018 (EST)
Just please try to be a little less concerned with the names of articles. St. Reggie, the Iron Leprachaun Warrior 23:09, 2 March 2018 (EST)
If we are to follow the logic of your arguments on Talk:Crush, that article names should be nouns where possible, then the article name we currently have here is exactly that. The fact that the first word of the article is "Pausing" is irrelevant, and can easily be changed anyway. Meanwhile, "Pause" is the name of the feature, and itself a noun. I've been trying to wait to see if anyone else has something to say, but I think it's time to close the discussion as failed now. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:03, 16 March 2018 (EDT)

I think it's more productive to try and discuss these verb article moves collectively. Ac2k, I believe it would be beneficial if you were to start a discussion on SmashWiki talk:Manual of Style so we can knock this issue out all at once instead of having 20 separate discussions about basically the same thing.
