I think that we should make pages for them. We should also do trivia about them. Also, we should have a synopsis for them. Nintendofan146 22:06, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

I did. Someone erased it because it was irrelevant. Zmario 19:15, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I think we should include them. Nintendofan146 22:06, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Get info from the strategy guide. We should also put every color scheme in Brawl, on top of the whole story issue. Enzeru 17:05, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Videogame Sales wiki

Hello, I've created Videogame Sales wiki to organize console and game sales data and trends. For those of you who enjoy reading the latest NPD or worldwide sales figures and seeing who's winning the console race, then stop by and check the wiki out. If you have any questions, just leave a comment on the wiki. Thanks! w3stfa11 23:24, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Can non-admins add to the did you know section?XXXXX 01:59, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Why, yes they can Mr. XXXXX! See template:did you know. --Sky (t · c · w) 05:50, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Awesome. Some of the other wikis I edit at need one of these XXXXX 20:58, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Added category

ever since i thought of this i thought the game wasnt the same... i love brawl no doubt but why couldn't they give adult link the ability to turn into wolf link, kinda like zelda turns to sheik.

maybe in a 2nd wii smash if they make 1.

tails is another character i was suprised not to see with some of the characters they did put in —Preceding unsigned comment added by Charlie.lp.brown (talkcontribs) 02:33, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't think so about wolf link. But you should discuss this in this forum. XXXXX 16:02, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Secret Charecters?

Nintendo seems really serious about keeping the unlockable charecters SECRET. Shouldn't we be doing the same? Zenzpore 20:09, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Zenzpore

That's their prerogative. Ours is to create an encyclopedia. Therefore, we say which they are and how to obtain them. Nintendo can do what it wants. =) --Sky (t · c · w) 22:06, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
If Star Wars 6 had just come out, and this was a Star Wars wiki, would we start posting about Darth Vaders identety everywhere, so all unfortunate enough to come will have the movie spoiled? Brawl is pretty recent, and many don't want spoilers. Shouldn't we wait a little longer before these articles?
If it were a Star Wars wiki, yes, we would start posting spoilers. It's about complete information, not a calculated presentation that caters to overemotional players. The onus is on the reader to know what kind of website they're getting into. --Randall00 16:33, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Do we really need the spoiler thingy? About half of the pages about Brawl contains spoilers, but don't have the tag. Can we just stop using the spoiler tag? --Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 12:52, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Smashers...American Smashers?

Why are there suddenly links and drop-down menus for Smashers and American Smashers (which seem to be identical) off the main page? First they were being moved out of the main namespace so the article count wouldn't be "misleading" (because ya know, smasher articles aren't REAL articles, apparently) and now they appear in the menu on the side bar along with an extra special link specifically for Americans? What kinda crazy double standards are you guys running here? --Randall00 10:38, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

What are you talking about? I don't see anything like you just said. I'm using the Monaco skin.--Richard 14:38, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Well it's gone now. I tried to find an intermediate revision but it suspiciously doesn't exist. --Randall00 16:29, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

It's pretty cool.

Sot of like this. We can have two characters battle each week. What do you think? XXXXX 20:30, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

It sounds pretty cool. But instead of being in the Smashwiki: namespace, perhaps we could vote one person to have it on their userpage. Just my suggestion. --Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 20:43, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, we should notify an admin and he/she can decide whether or not to put it on the wiki. XXXXX 23:58, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

That's pretty cool. Instead of just characters, we could expand more, stages, modes, etc. Kudos for XXXX :3 ItemHazard (talk) 01:34, 6 June 2008 (UTC) ItemHazard

Do we have an article...

on things sticking to people after they're supposed to be dissapearing in Melee? P.S. Kirby with a Yoshi tounge looks innappropreate with the glitch. *_* GandWuser (talk) 01:59, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

New Stickers Section/Strategies

Has anyone else been thinking That we need to stop posting Strategy sections, and stop giving personal advice in the stickers section? We should let the reader make their own strategies. It's perfectly alright for us to help, but going right out their and saying 'do this, this and this, but dont do this' is a little wrong. I think we should start using this new Stickers template I made (see Mr. Game & Watch (SSBB), which describes what type of attacks the attacks are considered, and also the 'Exclusive Stickers'. And about the strategies, we should use the template on Mewtwo (SSBM) from now on, putting links to pages about strategies that PROFFESIONALS USE. Who's with me? Zenzpore (talk) 02:15, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Great thing

No vandilism lately! I think that we SmashWikians are gonna go the WHOLE summer without vandilism or joke pages. So, remember, nice summer on SmashWiki! ParaGoomba348 (talk) 02:23, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

The featured Article

Hasn't Melee been the featured article for a long time now? Anybody wanna change it? I don't think I should, I'm not a "Sysop". Suggestions: Brawl, Super Smash Flash, SSB64.......--GDawg816- "Sonic's the name, speeds my game! (talk) 18:28, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

ssb64 was on way longer. i still think it should be "this weeks featured article". anyways i was thinking it could be random. or that we could of "todays featured stage", "todays featured character", and "today's featured item", along with the regular featured article. Kperfekt722 (talk) 18:35, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah having it random would be cool! Then it would not be dictated by one user.... *Cough*Richard1990*Cough*. A new featured article every day sounds even better...... --GDawg816- "Sonic's the name, speeds my game! (talk) 18:39, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Eh? I don't dictate the FA.--Richard 18:42, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh. So can you put it to random? Just exclude user and user talk pages and we're good! --GDawg816- "Sonic's the name, speeds my game! (talk) 18:46, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, I believe the system now is Template:FA/7, followed by Template:FA/8, followed by Template:FA/9, etc. So really, I can just select random articles, do a little rewrite up and put it on the Main Page manually. So yes, I can do it randomly, though I have to find articles and make a little blurb first, which isn't that hard.--Richard 18:53, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Go with whatever, to be had. If we stick to numbers, I can set up an almost-randomized dealio. --Sky (t · c · w) 05:25, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

We need to work on origins for the special attacks. Many do not have one, last I knew. I can't do all of it myself. Please help! Nintendofan146 (talk) 23:14, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

CrappyCaptureDevice FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 02:33, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

YES! I completley agree! We need to work on origins, but not just for special attacks, but also for tuants, victory poses, stages, and anything else that you feel like!Lord Xale (talk) 01:56, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

New Smash Bros. News?

Hey, if anyone has any news about any new games in the Smash Bros series, then just report back here... I personally don't have any news yet, but I am a HUGE Smash Bros. fan,and an even HUGER (if that's even a word) gamer, so I want to know any news about any new instalments in all of my favorite series!Lord Xale (talk) 02:04, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I've been hearing rumors lateley that there's going to be a Smash Bros. game for the DS... I don't have any conformation if this is true or not though Lord Xale (talk) 01:02, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Haven't we ALL heard of SSBDS? anyways, (even though i don't play it but i know a lot of people do) i heard that super smash flash 3 will be the last one. about time. Kperfekt722 (talk) 13:03, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Super Smash Flash 3? What are you talking about? SSF2 isn't even complete yet. --Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 13:28, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

New Template

I think that we need a template saying that an article needs an image. Or more images than it currently has. Here is a template that I made:

[image deleted] This article is in need of more or better images
If you have a good image for this article, please upload it at Special:Upload

The bottom of the template will have {{{doc|[[Category:Articles in need of images]]}}} , so that the page will be added to [[Category:Articles in need of images]].

It may need some different wording, and a different image. What do you think?

--Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 17:33, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, I like the idea, and it is something wikipedia does. Let's just be careful that the images that get added are relevant and good quality. Also, we don't need six different pictures of the same attack hitting different characters on different stages. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 15:18, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

So, should I go ahead and make the template? --Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 13:44, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

This is not the place to discuss potential new templates, this is the talk page for the Main Page. That said, the colors on the template make it pretty unreadable. I don't like the idea of using colors for the sake of making things colorful; we should have a system like Wikipedia where the colors associated with each template have some sort of meaning (distinguishing, for example, "this article can be enhanced" vs. "this article is lacking important details" vs. "this article is factually incorrect") --Kirby King 00:47, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I'd just like to comment about the spelling on the main page. The main page is the first thing new visitors see when they enter this site. If many words are spelled incorrectly, the new visitor may already have a bad impression of the site. I'm talking about the "Note to all Users" section, in which many words are spelled wrong. I'm just asking that when you edit the main page, make sure you spell words right. Thanks! swannie Globeicon.png talk 02:49, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Here's a idea: Next time actually say what words are misspelled. Oh, and last time I check one is not equal to many. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 19:06, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
You also spelled "Temporarily" wrong. Sorry for any confusion, not trying to start a fight. swannie Globeicon.png talk 02:47, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Featured Article (Pikachu)

It says he's the only Pokemon aside from Jigglypuff to appear in all three games, but Charizard did, too. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 08:58, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Charizard isn't playable until Brawl. That was the point of the comment. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 13:13, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Okay. But it quite clearly says appear; nothing about playability. As it is now, it's wrong. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 14:44, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

A Poll

Cafinator votes for a playful poll on the front page.

Yes: 5 votes
No: 3 votes
IRONY: 2 votes

I think a poll would be good. It could be serious, funny, informative, etc. Like on the GTA wiki they have a poll and one of the questions is "ARe you going to buy GTA 4 for the computer?" and gives more than yes or no. So that's just an example. Smorekingxg456 (talk) 23:14, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Alright, thanks. I'll close this poll on Tuesday . Unless it's so one-sided. Cafinator (talk) 23:16, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

And...Saturday is today! And the results are...Yes has the most votes, by two. I'll make a poll, which will change every...ehh...two weeks. Cafinator (talk) 07:08, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

That's funny, I could've sworn the poll was supposed to close on Tuesday... oh, it was. In any event, I don't think polls have anything to do with encyclopedias, and since a poll is not a substitute for consensus achieved through discussion, if someone removes the poll because there was no consensus to add it, they'll be right. --Kirby King 23:48, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Im with Kirby King on this JtM =^] (talk) 00:23, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

OK, OK, I'll be more decisive before I make something that might be fun. If someone wants to vote, just change the number, I'll check back here whenever I see this edited and make sure that no one increased a number more than one or decreased it at all, unless you have an alternative. Cafinator (talk) 01:17, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, the people have decided. But, if you'll be a negative Nancy and delete something for fun, I won't stop you. Just remember that a new poll now and then will attract new members! I'll try to change it every two weeks, that is, unless you decide to delete it. Cafinator (talk) 22:45, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

I moved the poll to the right side; if you see it overlapping and screwing up the layout, don't worry about it as I put some code into MediaWiki:Common.css that fixes it. It'll fix itself within the next 24 hours.--Richard 17:47, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Past Poll Results

Should I make a section right here showing past poll results? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cafinator (talkcontribs)

I would make a subpage or a new page in the SmashWiki namespace, because this page will be archived repeatedly, and that would kind of defeat the purpose of archive past poll results. --Kirby King 03:15, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Would one be as so kind as to do it for clueless Cafinator, please? Cafinator (talk) 03:19, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Just click on SmashWiki:Poll Archive and paste your results there with the date. *thumbs up* --RJM Talk 03:28, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
...Got it. Thank you! Cafinator (talk) 03:33, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

(To make it easier on poor Cafinator's memory, I'll change the polls every other Friday from now on. Cafinator (talk) 23:36, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Uhh...there. No more fumbling...

get fanfiction out of here

I think we need to get rid of the fanfiction, move it to fantendo, or move it to a subpage. by the subpage i mean this for example: User:Solar flute/Super smash brothers conflict. Some people might think they are real games, i thought one of them was.

haha wow
