Capitalization[edit]

The title, ARMS, is always all-caps in official media. Even the word "arm" is always capitalized, as it is referring to the concept of the fictional "arms" within the game. I think this wiki should be consistent with the style and use all-caps "ARMS" for the game/universe title as well as for referring to the arms themselves. This would include moving this article to "ARMS (universe)" and changing "Arms" on existing pages to "ARMS". Dr. HyperCake (talk) 03:36, 5 November 2018 (EST)

Due to the lack of opinion either way, I've made this change to the appropriate articles. Dr. HyperCake (talk) 04:05, 7 November 2018 (EST)

Might be too early for the article[edit]

I feel like this will be vandalized because when people think thier funny they make weird things, I feel like someone is gonna go and say something on here not true, this is too early to make an article on this. Also people reading will not have enough to read because we don't have much information yet. MeleeBoi (talk) 05:12, March 27, 2020 (EDT)

This isn't a new article though. If you look at the History tab (after going back to the article first), you can see it existed as early as November 2018. Aykrivwassup (talk) 09:33, March 27, 2020 (EDT)
Spring Man had an Assist Trophy in the base game, and any universe that gets a fighter, stage, Assist Trophy, enemy and item gets a page. The list of minor universes are for universes that have no representation but what's put into lists. SeanWheeler (talk) 19:30, March 29, 2020 (EDT)

Oh yeah, whoops but maybe some of the info that is about the new fighter, should probably not have too much info because we dont know about them too well. Its Ya Boy, MeleeBoi IsabelleHeadBlueSSBU.png 22:15, April 11, 2020 (EDT)

Capitalization...again[edit]

So going through this page's history, I've noticed that the title was formatted with only the first letter capitalized (similarly to how Wikipedia handles all-cap titles). However, a user by the name of Dr. HyperCake (whose convo about the title's capitalization can be seen in an above discussion on this here talk page) moved the page's name and edited all mentions of the title to be in all-caps, all without any kind of consensus, and the change just stuck from here on out.

Considering that we generally avoid using all-caps for nearly every other series whose titles officially use that stylization (like "PAC-MAN" or "FINAL FANTASY"), this one might stick out like a sore thumb to some people as a result. If anyone is against using the standard format for the title (i.e. First letter capitalization only), then a justification is needed (Dr. HC's reason is that the in-game concept of "arms" within the game is always formatted in all-caps, which I suppose is a valid reason).

Any thoughts? SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 20:13, April 24, 2021 (EDT)

Capitalization is just too woven into the game's identity. The sport is called "ARMS", the organisation is the "ARMS League", The boxing gloves are called an ARM. Pac-man is commonly written normally, example "Frightened Ghosts sends Jammer Pac-Man to other players’ mazes to slow them down.". Gagesango (talk) 20:47, April 24, 2021 (EDT)
