Proof of notability.

Shuton

My edits were not made simply due to recency bias, if that's what you're insinuating. There were three reasons combined as to why I believe Shuton should be listed as the best Olimar.

1. He's outplaced Dabuz at 2 of the 3 tournaments that they were both at (Frostbite and Prime Saga for Shuton/GENESIS for Dabuz). Technically, Myran did outplace Shuton at 2/3 of those tournaments himself, but Shuton made Top 8 at 2 of them and Myran's lowest placing (17th) is lower than Shuton's (13th).

2. He's actually more consistent than both Dabuz and Myran. Shuton's two lowest placings in Ultimate are 4th and 13th in comparison to Dabuz/Myran's two lowest of 9th and 17th. This also means that Shuton has only missed out on Top 8 once.

3. He won Prime Saga, making him the only one between him/Dabuz/Myran to have a major win in Ultimate.

This isn't quite the same situation as in Smash 4 where Kirihara won a major before Dabuz did, despite Dabuz being solidly more consistent than him otherwise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk • contribs) {{{2}}}

I see. My apologies on undoing your edits; I thought that you prefer to claim some Japanese player the best player of some characters in the world. But what I've also meant is that we should watch for some more tournaments to determine who is the best Olimar player in the world. (such as CEO and EVO) I also thought that best players will show up after these two big tournaments. In other words, Prime Saga, despite being a big tournament in itself, may not be enough to determine who is the best player of said characters (in this case, Olimar). Quick thing on characters

Characters used for one tournament shouldn't be added to the infobox immediately. In the case of Bloom4Eva, not only has he rarely pulled out Corrin in past tournaments, but the Grand Finals match was basically a sandbag match, and we don't consider sandbag characters. "Best in the world"

Should quickly mention this, try avoid using a definitive "best in the world" unless it's very obvious there isn't anyone else who's just as good (eg MkLeo Byleth/Joker). CookiesCreme 00:40, November 1, 2021 (EDT)

I meant best in the world for characters. For example, I feel like saying Repo is the definitive "best in the world" is a bit too early judging by how his results don't immediately outshine Mega Man results from the past, plus the existence of players like ScAtt. BarnardLoop's posts

It should be noted that BarnardLoop's lists are not strictly a list of the best players in the world for each character. For example, Cosmos is technically leading on points for Pyra/Mythra, but that's simply because he had a head start and attended more events early, thus acculumating more points. BL himself has stated that Sparg0 is the best Pyra/Mythra player and the clear frontrunner for 2nd-best player in North America (and probably the world).
