'''Sonix''' is a smasher from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic who plays [[Sonic]] in both {{forwiiu}} and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. He is considered the greatest ''Smash'' player from the Dominican Republic.

Sonix's career began in ''Smash 4'', where he was mostly known for his performances online, especially at {{Trn|Naifu Wars}} events. Offline, he eventually became the best ''Smash 4'' player in the Dominican Republic in the game's final year, winning every event in his country during this time. He later broke out onto the national scene in ''Ultimate'' during the pandemic, where he became one of the best players in the online metagame. Upon the return of offline competitive play, he became the best Sonic player in the post-pandemic metagame, winning his first major at {{Trn|CEO 2022}} as well as Sonic's first supermajor at {{Trn|Get On My Level 2023}}. He has won a total of 7 major/supermajor events and has been ranked amongst the top 5 for several seasons, peaking at 3rd on the [[LumiRank 2023]]. As such, he is widely considered the greatest ''Ultimate'' Sonic player of all time and one of the greatest North American ''Ultimate'' players of all time.

==Playstyle==
Sonix is known for playing extremely optimal, using the character’s speed and specials to make unpredictable and non-committal approaches in neutral, making it hard for his opponent to punish him. Sonix will often slow the game down to a crawl, racking up damage off combos derived from stray hits and taking little risks when even or up a stock, being more than willing to take his opponent to time if needed. However, Sonix is also known for his advantage state, overwhelming the opponent with Sonic's frame data and combos when he has them backed in a corner and sometimes leading to an early KO.

However, Sonix has shown to struggle when he doesn’t have the lead, becoming impatient to take a stock and playing more suboptimal. This, coupled with his general slower pace throughout the game, has sometimes led to himself losing momentum or even being timed out by his opponents. Sonix is also notorious for his [[Homing Attack|homing attacks]], which he uses off-stage to edgeguard. Given the nature of the move, Sonix has often [[self-destruct|self-destructed]] in attempts to finish off the opponent's stock.
