Edwin Budding is a Smash historian, prolific essayist from his weekly column series, Monday Morning Marth, and editor-in-chief and founder of Melee Stats. He is most known for writing the competitive Melee history book The book of Melee. Edwin has also been a consistent panelist for the Top 100 SSBMRank for the years 2017 to 2023, co-wrote the retrospective power rankings RetroSSBMRank, and was the project director behind the Top 100 Melee Players of All Time in conjunction with PGStats. Edwin is also a content creator for the Melee Stats youtube channel having written and directed several YouTube video essays, including Melee's Terrible Stages (And How We Banned Them), Mew2King vs. Hungrybox - The Worst Grand Finals of All Time, and When Mew2King Lost to Bowser, as well as other video content.
