'''Abate''' is a [[smasher]] from [[Pennsylvania|Pittsburgh]] and originally from [[New Jersey]] who [[main]]s {{SSBM|Luigi}} in ''[[Melee]]''. Initially a {{SSBM|Falco}} player, he began using Luigi when he used him as a counterpick against {{Sm|Forward}}. After being inspired by a fellow Pittsburgh Luigi player, {{Sm|Vudujin}}, he decided to main Luigi himself going forward.

Abate has taken sets off several top smashers, including {{Sm|Westballz}}, {{Sm|Axe}}, {{Sm|Duck}}, {{Sm|DruggedFox}}, {{Sm|S2J}}, {{Sm|Mike Haze}}, {{Sm|Hax}}, {{Sm|n0ne}}, and {{Sm|Cactuar}}. At [[Zenith 2013]], he would place 7th, becoming the first Luigi main to make Top 8 at a major ''[[Melee]]'' tournament. He is considered one of the best ''Melee'' Luigi players globally alongside {{Sm|Ka-Master}} and {{Sm|Eddy Mexico}}.

Abate was formerly ranked 2nd on the [[Pittsburgh Melee Power Rankings]] and 63rd on the [[2018 MPGR]].
