Link (SSBM)/Down aerial

Overview[edit]
Link performs a downward thrust with his sword. Slow yet powerful, Link's down air is an effective kill option, KOing the majority of the cast at around 80-100%. It is primarily used as after Link's up tilt, up air, and depending on the character, up throw or down throw. If connecting against an opponent or shield without a fast fall, Link will "bounce" off of the opponent, allowing it to potentially connect a second time. However, its power is hampered by its extreme landing lag, having a whopping 50 frames if not L-canceled and 25 frames if L-canceled, both being some of the highest of any aerial in the game. As a result, it is a rare move in competitive play, with its main uses being for tech-chases or hard punishes.
