Never seen this before, and I thought I was pretty familiar with Melee. Where are you getting this from? Miles (talk) 23:19, 19 November 2010 (EST)
- When you hover over a stage on the selection screen, the blue hologram in the bottom-left corner has the series symbol for that stage on it (before it rotates forwards to show the stage itself). For Battlefield, it has this symbol. I don't remember if it does for Final Destination as well; since they're both "Special Stages" it might. Toomai Glittershine 23:40, 19 November 2010 (EST)
I don't know if I'll ever find an in-game picture, but at least this should prove it exists. Toomai Glittershine The Researcher 20:14, 28 December 2010 (EST)
- Well that shows me it exists, yes, but in what capacity is still unclear. Miles (talk) 20:47, 28 December 2010 (EST)
- Try looking at this video at about three seconds in; the cursor flicks over Battlefield and you can see the symbol for a bit in the bottom-left. (It's hard to find videos that leave this part in, so unless you can find something better that's all I can do.) Toomai Glittershine The Incomprehensible 21:13, 28 December 2010 (EST)
Bump. :/ Miles (talk) 17:03, 2 February 2011 (EST)
- I can see it too. The symbol is there. Here is a somewhat better quality video. Unknown the Hedgehog 17:54, 2 February 2011 (EST)
Why does this wiki use this for unknown universes?[edit]
I'm just wondering why we use this symbol for characters of other universes? The games only used this symbol for Melee's Battlefield. It doesn't seem right for the Special Stages symbol to be the placeholder for every universe that doesn't have their own symbol. In Smash 4, when a trophy isn't related to any fighter and classified under "Other", they don't have a symbol. That spot on the screen is a blank space. Maybe those characters, items, etc from other universes should just not use a symbol? If a lack of symbol breaks formatting, maybe use an unofficial symbol like we do with those interwiki links? Or a blank file in the same size to render it like Smash Wii U's Trophy Gallery? SeanWheeler (talk) 18:16, 20 March 2018 (EDT)
