'''Crash''' is a playable character in the ''[[Super Smash Bros.]]'' [[mod]] ''[[Smash Remix]]''. He was added to the mod in its 2.0.0 release on June 25, 2025, serving as the second of two characters representing games released on rival platforms to the Nintendo 64, the other being {{SR|Sonic}}. Crash is the ninth character added to ''Smash Remix'' not to have been playable in an official ''Smash'' game, the fourth of those characters to have their own slot on the character select screen, and the third character after {{SR|Conker}} and {{SR|Marina}} to represent a universe unrepresented in the official games. In Crash's case, he represents the eponymous ''[https://crashbandicoot.fandom.com/wiki/Crash_Bandicoot Crash Bandicoot]'' series. Crash's character design and animations take from his in-game appearances in the PlayStation ''Crash'' games, being a goofy but anxious character as opposed to the confident and outwardly aggressive personification seen in American promotional materials.

Crash's voice clips consist of archived recordings taken from the PlayStation installments of the ''Crash Bandicoot'' series provided by the late Brendan O'Brien and by Chip Chinery.

==Attributes==
Crash is a middleweight character known for having a really extensive and fluid combo game. He also has great mobility, as an example, Crash's dash gives him an instant large burst of speed, allowing him to quickly move in and out of situations quicker than a dodge would allow, and it can be cancelled into his neutral special, allowing him to extend combos over a long distance easily. Interestingly, Crash is also one of the few characters to have a forward throw that launches upwards.

Crash can gain a lot more horizontal momentum and travel much farther from his initial dash if he cancels it into his neutral special. This also allows him to extend combos over greater distances and travel faster in general.

===Instant flop===

If Crash's up special is used within the first few frames of leaving the ground after jumping, Crash will instantly flop on the floor as if he had just landed from up special. Since the move is so fast, it can be a really quick and strong way to hit anyone on the ledge because the hitbox reaches inside the ground a little bit.

===Spin jump===
Crash can jump at any point during his spin attack, and this allows him to combo into aerial attacks more easily after a spin. This can be done in combination with the dash spin to allow for greater mobility and combo fluidity.
