Overview
The Team Healer will only appear in Team Battles, provided the Item Switch settings allow for it. A player that grabs the sphere can heal a teammate by throwing the item at their character (as such, the player cannot use the item on themselves). However, if it hits an opponent instead, it will either deal 8%SSBB/9%SSB4 damage with medium knockback or have a 25% chance to heal them by 11%SSBB/7%SSB4. Oddly, the same also applies if it hits a teammate while Team Attack is on. The amount allies are healed is 0.3× their current damage. In Brawl, allies are healed an extra amount based on how fast the Team Healer is moving following the formula
7.6 + 3s
where s is the speed of the Team Healer; a point-blank smash up-thrown (speed of 4.1) Team Healer will heal and extra 19.9%, point-blank smash forward-throw (3.64) is 18.52%, and a Team Healer that is falling at its maximum fall speed (1.5) is 12.1%. Unlike other healing items in Brawl, if eaten it will have no effect, though in SSB4 it will heal 1% as other non-healing items do. The Ice Climbers are capable of using the item on each other as teammates.

Note that, in the same way that thrown items deal more damage if moving faster, the Team Healer will recover more damage if moving faster. These numbers represent a throw on the strong side.
In Stamina matches, the amount healed is a little more than the equivalent percentage due to rounding in a different direction.

In HP matches, the amount healed is a little more than the equivalent percentage. (ex.: if 100 HP are lost, the player the Team Healer is thrown at will recover 50 HP; outside of a Stamina battle, they'd recover 51% when at 100%.)

Team Healer (チーム回復だま, Team Recovery Ball) is an item introduced to the Super Smash Bros. series in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. 4.

Overview[edit]

The Team Healer will only appear in Team Battles, provided the Item Switch settings allow for it. A player that grabs the sphere can heal a teammate by throwing the item at their character (as such, the player cannot use the item on themselves). However, if it hits an opponent instead, it will either deal 8%Super Smash Bros. Brawl/9%Super Smash Bros. 4 damage with medium knockback or have a 25% chance to heal them by 11%Super Smash Bros. Brawl/7%Super Smash Bros. 4. Oddly, the same also applies if it hits a teammate while Team Attack is on. The amount allies are healed is 0.3× their current damage. In Brawl, allies are healed an extra amount based on how fast the Team Healer is moving following the formula 7.6 + 3s where s is the speed of the Team Healer; a point-blank smash up-thrown (speed of 4.1) Team Healer will heal and extra 19.9%, point-blank smash forward-throw (3.64) is 18.52%, and a Team Healer that is falling at its maximum fall speed (1.5) is 12.1%. Unlike other healing items in Brawl, if eaten it will have no effect, though in SSB4 it will heal 1% as other non-healing items do. The Ice Climbers are capable of using the item on each other as teammates.

In Stamina matches, the amount healed is a little more than the equivalent percentage due to rounding in a different direction.
