Wavelanded laser
The Wavelanded Laser is an advanced techique in Melee that can be performed by Falco, Fox and Kirby. This technique sounds easy but is much harder than it seems. The goal is to shoot an opponent landing or standing on a platform, or to shoot an opponent falling through a Platform, or to shoot an opponent landing from a fall. The tricky part of this move is trying to get the laser to go directly where you want it to go. Because of the speed of Falco's laser, he won't be able to shoot an opponent directly on the platform, but he can only shoot an opponent who falls through. This gives Falco an advantage over Fox.
Performing the Wavelanded Laser on an Opponent Landing or Standing on A Platform (Fox & Kirby)
1. Face the opposite direction of your opponent while you and your opponent stand on 2 different platforms.
2. Wavedash or Waveland backwards to fall off.
3. Shoot the Laser as soon as you fall off the platform.
Performing the Wavelanded Laser on an Opponent Falling Through a Platform or Landing From a Fall (Falco, Fox, & Kirby)
1. Face in the opposite direction of your opponent while you and your opponent stand on 2 different platforms.
2. Wavedash or Waveland backwards to fall off.
3. Shoot the laser when you fall right below the platform or when you fall between the platform and the ground.
If the Wavelanded Laser is done correctly, Falco, Fox, or Kirby will slide backwards off the platform, face their opponent, and shoot the Laser. It's much harder to shoot the Laser while facing your opponent because you automatically turn in the opposite direction as soon as you shoot the Laser and because Wavedashing or Wavelanding forward usually causes you to trip then stumble on the edge of the platform.
