Are they really part of the Mario series?[edit]

The smash blog post for Flies & Hand doesn't tag it with the Mario series and it's grouped with other miscellaneous assist trophies in the online profile icons list rather than with the other Mario assist trophies. Raufan (talk) 04:57, 29 November 2018 (EST)

I don't think it belongs in the Mario universe either, since it appeared in the Wario series as well. Veledwin1 (talk) 14:29, May 23, 2019 (EDT)

The spirit for the Flies & Hand is categorized in-game as a Mario spirit, so the fact that it's placed with the miscellaneous Assist Trophies in Training Mode seems to be an error. SuperSmashTurtles (talk) 19:22, May 23, 2019 (EDT)
I don't see where the issue is here. The Flies & Hand originated from Mario Paint in the minigame Gnat Attack, a role they reprise in Super Mario Maker. They only appear in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! in two microgames based on Gnat Attack. In game, as SuperSmashTurtles said, they are classified as being from the Mario series. Minor discrepancies on Nintendo's part, in reference to the Smash Blog and icons evidence, don't change the fact that they are in fact from the Mario universe.
