Nitrocidal is a Canadian smasher known for his recklessly kamikaze Kirby play and for having written a comprehensive text guide to playing a competitive Kirby known as A Puffball from Popstar.

Background

Originally a Link player, Nitrocidal discovered the competitive scene in the spring of 2005. Interested in getting to play other people, he communicated with several Calgary players including xpiritflare, and his friend Neil. Nitrocidal began to organize a tournament set for August, 2005. However, due to his lack of organizational skills and an unseen financial crisis, he was forced to cancel it, leaving many Edmonton and Calgary smashers angry.

After that incident he left the smash scene until late 2006, where he met RJM, and attended the second Pro Impact BI-WEEKLY Smash tournament.

Etymology

The name "Nitrocidal" was decided on after his effective use of Kirbycides in the 2006 Pro Impact Players' bi-weekly tournaments. A Kirbycide which results in a KO'd opponent without taking out Kirby himself (swallowcide-cancel) was similarly dubbed a Nitrocide®.
