Ax is an amateur smasher and member of the SLAPAHO crew. He has been playing Smash since the original, where he mained Link and Samus. He enjoys developing the metagame of low tier characters but understands that come tournament time it is necessary to play higher tiers.
He has participated in three tournaments, failing advance from the first round in the first two (with a loss to second place finisher Foghorn in the first, and a loss to DonkeyButt, the second place finisher in the second) and then placing third in a doubles tournament with SLAPAHO crew-mate Clifton 'Palm Tree' Palmer.
He is one of the best Ice Climbers player's in the Iowa City area.
On May 4, 2008, Ax became the first to document the SLAPAYO glitch, with SLAPAHO crewmate Foghorn.
