SmashLabs (abbreviated "SL"), is the home of the largest German-speaking Smash 4 community. The community consists of players from Germany, Austria, Luxemburg and Switzerland.

History

SmashLabs was founded by a part of the German Smash Boards community in July, 2014. The increasing popularity of Melee and decreasing interest in Brawl eventually led to a small group of smashers of the German Smash Boards founding their own community. The website was set up on July 23rd, 2014 and the forums were opened on August 4th. Since its beginning, SmashLabs has gathered nearly 4,000 members (as of November 2015) to participate in many discussions about Smash 4, with over 330 posts per day. The sudden rise in new smashers finding their way to SmashLabs has led the German Smash Boards to become mainly focused on Melee and Project M, linking new users to SmashLabs if they are more interested in Smash 4.

Goals

SmashLabs aims to be the central site for Smash 4 in the german-speaking community. While offering content for casual and competitive players alike, the main goal is to let the German Smash community grow and bring new players into the competitive scene.
