The Moon is a "character" in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and the "villian" of the game. Link (as young) has three days to summon the Four Giants of Termina to stop the moon from crushing the land.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, it does the pretty much same thing, except that it falls at a faster speed during the match.
