Mario Bros. is an unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is based on the arcade game Mario Bros, which appeared in 1983. It also appears as the stage of Event Match:# 19-"Wario Bros.". The 2D pixelated Shellcreepers (Koopas) and Sidesteppers (Crabs) will come through the warp pipes located on the upper and bottom parts of the stage as enemies and act the same way they did in the original game. For example, they will turn around if an object gets in the way, fall on their backs if hit from below the platforms, and become faster if flipped over but left alone. Defeating a Koopa or Sidestepper will let the player use their 8-bit bodies in a similar way a Bonsly is used in the game. Also, if the player hits the POW Block in the center of the stage, it will briefly stun all players and enemies on the screen. Another stage in Brawl that replicates older arcade games is a remake of a classic game: Donkey Kong.
