(I'd love to see nice gachapon machines in the States...the current stuff we have dispenses crap. Also, removing the Birdo line, since her trophy isn't exclusive to the Lottery, as well as the obvious trivia.)

The player receiving a Boo trophy in the mode. Note the "New Trophy!" overlay.

The Lottery is a Gashapon-like minigame in Super Smash Bros. Melee in which players use Coins to try to win a trophy. The more coins that are entered, the better the player's chances of receiving a new trophy, as opposed to one they already have. Up to 20 coins can be inserted at once. Each time a new trophy is won, the odds of getting another new trophy is lowered, which is indicated in a percent, until all trophies are won (0% of getting new trophy).

Taken with Dolphin.
Attaining the Blastoise trophy; the lack of a specific overlay denotes that the trophy has been attained in the past.

Even when the player has attained all collectible trophies, the Lottery function can still be used.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the mode is replaced by the Coin Launcher.
