This article lists differences between the NTSC version and PAL version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Here are some differences that have been noticed so far:

  • In the NTSC version, stage names are in ALL CAPS, whereas in the PAL version, they aren't. For example, if in the NTSC version say it's "DELFINO PLAZA" In the PAL version, it's "Delfino Plaza".
  • In the PAL version, Pokemon's names are ALL CAPS, as they are in their own main series video games.
  • The Nintendo Chonicle in the NTSC version goes up to "December 2007". In the PAL version, it goes up to "14 March, 2008".
  • All games that have different names in PAL regions have been changed accordingly. For example, the song entitled "Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day" is now called "Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old is Your Brain?". All references to "Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast" are now "Donkey Kong: Jet Race", and all references to "Star Fox" and "Star Fox 64" have been changed to "Starwing" and "Lylat Wars" respectively. (There are many more examples).
  • When performing a Flying Slam: if used to do a Sacrifical KO while both players are on the last stock of a Stock Brawl (in the PAL version), the player number doesn't matter. The player who is on the top (Bowser), when the KO happens, wins. This also applies for Ganondorf if is trying to do a Sacrifical KO with a Flame Choke
  • The song entitled "The Roost" in the Animal Crossing stage has been changed to "Brewster's Roost" in PAL
  • The trophy description on Lyn lists her age as 18, while in the US version, her age is said as 15. In the Japanese version of Fire Emblem, Lyn was 15, while in the US, her age was changed to 18.
  • If a CPU Luigi uses Negative Zone, he will only spam his Fireballs over and over again, even if his AI is set to Level 9. This has been fixed in the PAL version.
  • The PAL version of Negative Zone trophy mentions nothing about Luigi embracing the dark side in his brothers shadow, it just says that in contrast to the oddness of the dance, it is very powerful Final Smash.
  • The Challenge section in PAL has no shatterproof windows.
  • You don't have to do Boss Battles on Intense for Tank Form Galleom On PAL version.
