Forum:Why is Ashley an Assist Trophy?

Okay I know that this is a strange topic, but does anyone find it strange that Sakurai made her an Assist Trophy and didn't explain why? All of the other characters have logical explanations as to why they were put into such a position, or were either explain by Sakurai himself. So because of that, what gives? While she's not playable in this game, I think she's a safe bet for Smash 5.
