Everybody seems to hate him. The thing is, though, he's the guy who created the series, and people only seem to hate him because he took out some unintended physics exploit and slowed down the game, so that people who have trouble following the fast action can play. He added in the very first true story mode in the game, and people attack him because he added one thing that was too random. So why do people really hate him? I don't like that he put that prat-falling feature in Brawl. Because of it, I try not to dash. The way I see it, sug, if I just walk, it minimizes any chance of me tripping...then again, it drops my odds of tripping to zero. I walk with any character I play with, ignoring their walking speed. I feel pretty silly when I trip and fall over. Besides that, Sakurai did cool everywhere else, albeit he should make multi-hit attacks in this game such that most or all of the total damage is dealt to a foe. Forums: Index Brawl Talk Why do so many people hate Sakurai?

Everybody seems to hate him. The thing is, though, he's the guy who created the series, and people only seem to hate him because he took out some unintended physics exploit and slowed down the game, so that people who have trouble following the fast action can play. He added in the very first true story mode in the game, and people attack him because he added one thing that was too random. So why do people really hate him? 98.111.95.78 02:07, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Look at it this way: People hate what developers do to a game because it's not what they would have done. And of course, the most displeased people make the most noise, which skews perceptions. Toomai Glittershine Toomai.png eXemplary Logic 02:19, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
I should also add that it's entirely possible that some things weren't Sakurai's idea. Maybe someone else thought that slowing the game down would be better, or maybe Nintendo pressured on a story mode. Toomai Glittershine Toomai.png The Table Designer 14:18, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
That, and for lulz. HavocReaper'48 02:33, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
I've said this countless times, but it's not like Sakurai's haters can do anything to him. What will they do? Sue him? Take over Nintendo? I think this is so commonplace because everyone can say they hate Sakurai from the safety of their homes, but then again, it isn't like these people can meet him and tell him their opinions to his face. Brawl being a "bad game" is a terrible generalization. It may not be as good as its predecessor, but Brawl isn't a bad game. Nor is it a "party" or "children's game". Sakurai probably ignores this hatred, but what say, hypothetically speaking, he sees everyone's negative opinion on Brawl. That would discourage him greatly, and there may not be a next Super Smash Brothers game. But that's speaking hypothetically, and I'm hoping he does ignore said opinions. Haha. Actually, Sakurai can use that criticism for Smash 4. Maybe we could get an even bigger story, or none at all. And tripping... -_-. I've made my fair share of deaths due to trippery. Who knows? HavocReaper'48 14:39, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

We've got other forums for that. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 15:12, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
I admit tripping was one of his worse ideas... but he didn't make it for tournament use. Sakurai didn't make the game to be competetive, we made competition out of the game. I don't actually remember tripping causing me to lost a stock or anything. It rarely happens, anyway. 98.111.95.78 18:10, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
