The attack button refers to the controller button used for neutral attacks:
- The A button on most default control schemes
- The 2 button on a Wii Remote used alone with Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- The right button on a horizontal Joy-Con used alone with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is the X button on the right Joy-Con.
Note that in some cases the term "attack button" can also refer to "regular attack button or special move button", such as when a character is grabbing an edge.
