Tortimer (disambiguation)
Background
Tortimer is a character appearing in the Animal Crossing series. He assumes the role of mayor and is the "boss" of the town. He is an old, withered turtle, wearing glasses, a top hat and a long white beard, who talks to the player during special holidays and events, and for this reason is very rarely seen. He laughs with a suggested wheeze and often reflects on his past. He can be seen sleeping at a desk in the town hall on non-event days. The villagers hold many suspiscions about him and his supposed alter-ego Cornimer, who appears in the acorn festival.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Tortimer, and his "other self", the elusive Cornimer, appear in the background of the Smashville stage as stage elements. They watch the fighters battle as would the other characters. Mayor Tortimer also appears as a trophy and Cornimer as a collectible sticker.
Trophy Description
"The mayor of the player's town. Usually in his office in the town hall, he emerges on holidays to usher in special festivities. He's a busy fellow who also serves as the record keeper for fishing and bug-catching tournaments. He cuts a very dashing figure in his hat and bow tie. There may be some link between him and Cornimer, who appears at the fall Acorn Festival."

Oddly, in the trophy gallery, when the order is set to "By Category" Tortimer appears under "Fighter Related" and not as a "Stage Element".
