Pit (SSBB)

Pit (ピット, Pitto) is a character appearing in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He uses a bow and arrow as a weapon, and it can also split into 2 small blades. Pit's arrows shoot out like beams of light when fired, and the curve of the arrows' trajectory can be controlled by the player, by pressing up or down. This is called Palutena Arrow. Pit can jump in mid-air multiple times, but like Kirby and Jigglypuff, he will fall after time. This is called Wings of Icarus. He will also, like Meta-Knight, have a multi-hit aerial attack.
Pit was originally slated to appear already in SSB, but was replaced by Jigglypuff because she was believed to be more economically viable (i.e. her being in the game would sell more copies than Pit being in it).
