| There are a few noticeable changes in the city's terrain, marking obvious battle areas. One such difference, are the new platforms mounted on either side of the Shine Gate. The Pianta Statue in the frontal area has also been removed, probably to make for a more feasible fighting space.

The hub location in Super Mario Sunshine, Delfino Plaza is appearing as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Through some of the battle you fight on a large platform. The platform lands in several locations on Delfino Plaza.
