Someone tried to make a new version of this, so I figured I'd explain why I did it the way it is: one, it's skinny because it matches the Inkipedia logo; two, it's not tilted because the majority of official series symbols are vertically symmetrical, and to my knowledge there's enough usage of the symbol as upright in Splatoon that it would be acceptable.
