Use
Displays Japanese characters. For example, {{ja|スミッデル}} gives スミッデル. If a user has set his/her monobook.css to a font unable to display Japanese characters, such as Verdana, this template helps (if any Japanese font is installed). The first parameter should be the text, and the second (optional) should be the hover text, where "Japanese text" is the default.
