The Off-Season is an upcoming Super Smash Bros. Melee invitational tournament that will be held on October 15th-16th, 2022 in Arlington, Texas. There were 8 players invited to the singles event, and 8 players will qualify through an open bracket.[1] The 16 players will play in a double-elimination singles bracket. The tournament will have a combined $25,000 prize pool: a $23,000 prize pool for the top 8 of the singles bracket, and $250 and a pair of Oakley sunglasses for each of the 8 qualified players.[2][3] The Off-Season is a retro-themed charity fundraiser event in support of Movember that will also feature a Call of Duty: Black Ops II invitational, a FIFA 06 celebrity showmatch, retro game speedruns, and Pokémon card openings.
