:(edit conflict) [[Help:talk page]] is a help page, not a policy.
:That's a help page, not a policy.
:He doesn't just "look like" Red. He is the exact same thing as Red. It's beyond just a mere resemblance. They are the same. Your argument is based on technicalities and semantics. "Just because they don't say he's Red, means he's not Red/we can't say he's Red." No, that isn't an argument. He's Red. I don't know how you could think it was anyone else or how it could feasibly be anyone else; they're the same in every way except Smash calls him Pokémon Trainer and Pokémon calls him whatever you do. <span style="font-family:Triforce, sans-serif;">'''[[User:Dr. Pain 99|<font color=#008000>D<font color=#008019>o<font color=#008031>c<font color=#008049>t<font color=#008062>o<font color=#008080>rP</font>a</font>i</font>n</font>9</font>9</font>]]'''</span> 05:10, 29 July 2013 (EDT)

:I apologize for forgetting to sign my comments. I'm used to forums, not Wiki things. The wiki I normally edit doesn't have signed comments. No, he only looks like Red and that's 100% it. I can't think of him as Red without factual evidence that he is Red. By an official source, not speculation, of which you are providing. And yes, it's easy to think of him as a generic Trainer using Red's design simply because it was the first Trainer design ever created.(and using the updated version for obvious reasons) I understand you want to think he is due to the character design alone. But another issue we come up with is that Red cannot talk in-game, being 100% silent. Yet this guy talks... like Ash. But since he can't be Ash either, we have a giant issue on our hands. That is, we don't know who he is beyond a Generic Trainer(according to all official data, not speculation). And that's it.
