I tested the smash C-Stick thing in Smash 4 with PK Thunder and got these results (inputs done after it reached the right edge of the closest platform). Same deal in Ultimate, but with a larger angle change. (The following is why I'm doing a talk post instead of an edit) I'm not sure I agree with saying the input "persists", as to me that suggests the PK Thunder would eventually go straight up like with a held control stick input--instead it behaves as a brief input and needs multiple inputs to reach straight up. With Elytra it is closer to a control stick input, so I'd say that one is persistent. Also (at least with PK Thunder), left and right C-Stick inputs with also change the angle, not just up and down. --CanvasK (talk) 20:43, April 25, 2024 (EDT)

:With PK Thunder, you can see that if you make a C-Stick input before using PK Thunder, and keep the stick held, when you try to angle the thunder forward, it will go diagonally up or down, and if you keep the control stick held forward, you can circle the C-Stick (so as not to repeat the input) to angle it slightly up and down. I've found that a few specials work in this way, for example if you have the C-Stick held up and you input Fire Fox to the side with the control stick, it will go diagonally up slightly. If you keep the C-Stick held down and tap up on the control stick to input Mewtwo's Up B, he will teleport down instead of the default up. Other examples include being able to shift your shield (again, with prior C-Stick input, as a new one will obviously cause you to grab), and as long as you circle the stick and don't return it to neutral, you can shift between shifting it slightly up and slightly down. All of this indicates that the stick is continuing to make slight vertical inputs for some reason. ::Interesting. I tried that in Smash 4 and having the C-Stick in any position (that would trigger a smash attack) would result in the control stick's input being ignored completely. Every special was neutral special and I couldn't walk/run. Setting the C-Stick to tilt or special didn't halt movement, but it also had no affect on PK Thunder (special kinda did, but it only registered a single angle change and ignored the others, and holding it prevented other specials). --CanvasK (talk) 21:54, April 25, 2024 (EDT)
