Making constructive edits[edit]

Hi, I've looked through your contributions, and in the many months you've been here, the overwhelming majority of your edits have been to the Smash Arena. This is a violation of SmashWiki is not just Smash Arena, and if you are to vote here, you are also expected to edit constructively. Please make additional effort to edit constructively on this wiki. If you need help finding something to edit, look at the categories in this template. You should also create an account. Awesome Cardinal 2000 23:48, 23 August 2013 (EDT)

No, I think he/she's fine. There are constructive edits in there, and it's not like they're overly focused on creating a userpage; they just vote. DoctorPain99 00:04, 24 August 2013 (EDT)

Hello guys. I read what you said and I am well aware of the fact that I vote more often than I contribute to the site. I also know about the violation that Ac2k mentioned, but I didn't know that it also applies to IPs and I apologize for unintentionally violating that rule. As a result, I will see if I can improve pages a bit more often in an attempt to balance out my edits. Otherwise, I will punish myself by not voting for a few months. Does that sound OK? Thanks! 71.105.121.171 13:54, 24 August 2013 (EDT)

You don't need to punish yourself by not voting, just balance your edits out with constructive edits, and that will be okay. Awesome Cardinal 2000 14:05, 24 August 2013 (EDT)
I don't know if IPs ever get on probation. All I saw on the probation lists were usernames. ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) 16:56, 24 August 2013 (EDT)
Just because IPs can't get put on probation doesn't mean they shouldn't be warned about things like this. Awesome Cardinal 2000 17:33, 24 August 2013 (EDT)

I don't think warning IPs about this kind of stuff is really necessary. Scr7Wolfsig.png =D 16:58, 24 August 2013 (EDT)

It certainly is if an IP spends all their time on something like Smash Arena. Editing without an account is not a free pass to ignore the rules. Awesome Cardinal 2000 17:33, 24 August 2013 (EDT)
then why haven't people like this or this received warnings? There are many IPs who have just voted in the Smash Arena and nothing has been said to them. Scr7Wolfsig.png =D 17:46, 24 August 2013 (EDT)

Keep in mind about the Wiki Status. If the status is green, then userpage edits and frequent SA participations are more tolerable, just not stay in SA and userpages all the time. ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) 18:50, 24 August 2013 (EDT)

An icon used in notice templates. This is an IP's talk page. While it's not a requirement to have a username, those that do not can only be recognized by their IP address, which can change over time and/or be assigned to an unrelated user; they can even be shared by multiple users. If this talk page belongs to your IP but its comments are intended for someone else, you may want to login or create an account to eliminate future confusion.
