To commemorate the anniversary of the ''[[Super Smash Bros. Invitational]]'', and the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series as a whole, La Guarida de K-Star [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YroiK_Wx_X8 announced] and subsequently hosted an '''invitational tournament''' following [[E3 2015]], at the Coliseo Mariscal Cáceres in Chorrillos, Lima, Perú.

The game played was {{forwiiu}}. Sixteen "highly skilled" players, whose experience included ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', and ''[[Project M]]'' were invited to participate. This was intended to be more an exhibition of the game than a standard tournament, so the event also featured the same non-standard rules with little variations of the original, such as the inclusion of items in some matches. New additions included a loser's bracket and the ability to choose 2 characters.

The entirety of the tournament was planned to be also streamed live on KStar's [http://www.twitch.tv/kstaroficial/ official Twitch] account, with some ''Smash'' commentators announcing and commentating both the live event and video footage. Due to some technical issues of the main organization there was no Internet service, so the entire tournament was recorded and was released on YouTube.

All the characters, even the Miis, Mewtwo, Lucas, Roy, and Ryu were available.

==Ruleset==
The following rules were in effect based on the original Invitational Tournament:<ref>http://e3.nintendo.com/tournament/info/</ref>
*Before the tournament began, all competitors chose a first character in random order. Characters could not be chosen by multiple players, and players could not switch characters midway through the tournament. After choosing the first character all the players had to choose a second one, but this time in the reverse order than the first time. For example, St4r was the last one to choose the first character, but the first one to choose the second.
*All the players had to play with the first character in the first round, with the second character in the second round, and the rest was free with either.
*Each match was a four player free-for-all, and could be Time at 6 minutes, or with all players having three [[stock]]s, as well as a five minute [[time]]r. The top two players advance. A tie between two players or more players was decided by which player [[KO]]ed more players; if this was insufficient, the tie would be by Sudden Death.
*The finals took place on {{SSB4|Battlefield}}, with both players having three stocks and no time limit, as an explicit homage to the competitive Smash community.
*[[Item]]s were on medium for all 4-players rounds.
