All of the top 8 seeds were able to make top 8, the first time this has occurred at an Ultimate major since {{Trn|Glitch 7|g=ssbu}} more than six years prior, though where they ended up at the start of the bracket was different: {{Sm|MkLeo}} started top 8 on the Losers side after losing to {{Sm|Raflow}} 2-3 during the qualifier round (upset factor 4). In addition, {{Sm|Luugi}} was upset by {{Sm|SOLO}} 0-3 (upset factor 3), though was still able to enter top 8. Luugi ultimately pulled off a 6-set Losers run, where in top 8 he defeated both MkLeo and {{Sm|crêpe salée}} for the first time in his career; his run ended at 3rd after losing to Raflow in Losers Finals. Hurt ultimately won the event, winning game 5 sets against Raflow in Winners Finals and Grand Finals and performing a reverse 3-0 in the latter set. Hurt's victory at the event made him the sixth player to achieve the [[Ultimate Triple Crown]], as well as the fastest player to do so.
