This event was known for being one of the few ''Ultimate'' events that banned {{SSBU|Steve}} after the release of the [[Nintendo Community Tournament Guidelines]].

This event was the game's first major in the [[Carolinas]] region, first ''Smash'' major in the region since {{Trn|MLG Raleigh 2010}}, the first open major in the United States since {{Trn|Collision 2024}} in March, and the final United States major of the [[LumiRank 2024.1]] season. 

Although dominant in his region, this marked {{Sm|smub}}'s breakout event at a major, where as the #35 seed he upset #31 seed {{Sm|Sonido}}, #29 seed {{Sm|Mugen}}, #15 seed {{Sm|Candle}}, and #12 seed {{Sm|Wildz}} to place 9th, which ties the best major placement for a solo-Ridley player with {{Sm|rydra}}'s run at {{Trn|Crown 2}}. On the other hand, two top 8 seeds failed to make it into top 8, and in fact placed well below expectations: #4 seed {{Sm|Lima}} lost to #61 seed {{Sm|Justin24}} 1-3 (upset factor 8) and #17 seed {{Sm|IcyMist}} 2-3 (upset factor 5) for 33rd while #8 seed {{Sm|BeastModePaul}} lost to #72 seed {{Sm|Mikerowave}} 2-3 (upset factor 7) and #28 seed {{Sm|NoTag}} 2-3 (upset factor 4) for 25th. Replacing them were #9 seed {{Sm|Monte}} and #14 seed {{Sm|Jahzz0}}, with both players making their first major top 8 appearance at this tournament.

A notable incident took place during the Winner's Semi set between {{Sm|Kola}} and {{Sm|SHADIC}}, where during game 4 a fire started at the kitchen, leading to the venue's evacuation at the end of the set. Following their return, Kola won the set with a reverse 3-0, claiming his first win over {{Sm|SHADIC}} after losing to him the last four times, but then lost to {{Sm|MuteAce}} 1-3 in Winner's Finals. In the Loser's bracket, {{Sm|Zomba}} was sent to Losers by {{Sm|Wrath}} prior to top 8 but made a strong Losers run in top 8, defeating {{Sm|Peabnut}} 3-1 (only the second time he has ever defeated Peabnut), SHADIC 3-1, Wrath in the runback 3-0, and Kola 3-2 to enter Grand Finals, his best major performance since his victory at {{Trn|GENESIS X}}. MuteAce ultimately defeated Zomba in a close game 5 set, which not only marked his first major win, but the first major win for a {{SSBU|Peach}} player since {{Sm|Samsora}}'s victory at {{Trn|Shine 2019}} almost 5 years prior.
