It was announced at the end of [[2GGT: ZeRo Saga]], and is the spiritual successor to the [[2GGT]] series of tournaments. The tournament began on January 14th with {{Trn|2GGC: GENESIS Saga}} and a new event was held every month -- barring April -- until {{Trn|2GGC: MkLeo Saga}} on November 4th. The [[Tournament:2GG Championship|circuit finale]] was held from December 1st-3rd.


The tournament circuit remains the most prestigious tournament circuit in ''Smash 4'', with all events in the circuit reaching major status at minimum and greatly bolstering the number of ''Smash 4'' majors that year.
