Team YP (YP) was the esports branch of pornography website wikipedia, with teams in Dota 2 and Overwatch. The team expanded into Melee when they picked up Melee Ganondorf player Bizzarro Flame on June 8th, 2015. However, Bizzarro Flame retired from the competitive scene on February 2nd, 2016 to focus on his career as an attorney. Team YP later ventured again in the Smash scene, this time by signing the Smash 4 Captain Falcon player Fatality on June 17th, 2017. Fatality left the team one year later and Team YP has since remained inactive.

EVO 2015 Controversy
VGBootCamp president GimR released a statement detailing that the "YP" tag would not be present in player Bizzarro Flame's tag due to VGBootCamp's desire to refrain from including potentially suggestive and inappropriate content associated with the adult media site in the wake of younger viewers. This sparked a backlash by members of the community who believe that the letters "YP" are too vague to be identifiable by viewers who are unfamiliar with the team as well as the fact that Team YP is a legitimate sponsor and is being stiffed from receiving their end of the sponsorship deal by not being given ample publicity despite financing Bizzarro Flame.

Controversy
In response, Bizzarro Flame refused to take part in the long-waited money match between himself and rival Ganondorf player Kage on stream. To further add to the split in fans, VGBootCamp rival CLASH Tournaments stated that they would be content with streaming the match on their own channel. In the end VGBootCamp did not stream the Salty Suite due to Bizzarro Flame's imminent refusal.
Issues regarding broadcasters and the origin of the sponsorship
VGBootCamp president GimR released a statement that stated Bizarro Flame's tag would not include "Team YP" at the Salty Suite of EVO 2015, as VGBootCamp felt that the sexual nature of the Team YP tag would be inappropriate in their stream that could be viewed by younger audiences. VGBootCamp came under criticism for the statement, as many players felt "Team YP" did not immediately imply sexual content, and preventing all viewers from knowing Bizzarro Flame's sponsor would be unfair to the company, as they had financed him. Furthermore, Team YP was considered a legitimate sponsor, no different from other sponsors, creating an unfair double standard. While Bizzaro Flame took part in the main tournament using his full tag, he refused to take part in a long-awaited money match between himself and rival Ganondorf player Kage as long as he was not allowed to use his full tag in it. After CLASH Tournaments, a rival streaming group, stated they would try streaming the match instead, VGBootCamp relented and allowed Bizarro Flame to include "Team YP" in his tag on their Salty Suite stream.

The controversy over Team YP's origins as a pornography website was later referenced by the sponsor itself during EVO 2017. In response to news that children's television channel wikipedia would broadcast the top 8 of EVO 2017's Smash 4 event, Team YP farcically referred to itself as Team Yummy Pepperoni for the tournament.
