It was founded in Seoul in 2002 as the ''StarCraft: Brood War'' team Orion by legendary player BoxeR, considered to be a forefather of modern E-Sports, and in 2004, it became SK Telecom T1 after its title sponsor, Korean telecommunications giant SK Telecom. The organization also became widely known for its ''League of Legends'' success, which includes 3 World Championships (2013, 2015, and 2016).
