:Never seen this. Not sure if this works, if you consider opponent's DI and escaping out. I doubt that it would work on Greninja since it can Shadow Sneak hitstun cancel out of it. Luigi540 (talk) 22:07, 23 May 2016 (EDT)

::I slowed the video down. After I watched it, I don't think this is true. It looks like Donkey Kong tried to midair jump before getting hit. Even if you hit them out of their midair jump, some character have a fast aerial attack to hit you out. Luigi540 (talk) 22:15, 23 May 2016 (EDT)
I see. Well, I've had similar results with his BAIR too, but it doesn't look like I have any replays/videos of it. I wish there was an easy, reliable way of testing it. Unowninator (talk) 22:18, 23 May 2016 (EDT)
:Was it on a CPU/bad player or something? The fair spamming is a little believable (in the 1% area from memory), but not a bair spam from on-stage to off-stage. <span style="font-family:Orbitron"><span style="color:maroon">Mega</span><span style="color:silver">Tron1</span></span> 22:33, 23 May 2016 (EDT)
Nope; For Glory. I don't fight CPUs. Unowninator (talk) 22:42, 23 May 2016 (EDT)

I put the video in 0.25 speed and I am pretty sure that Donkey Kong did a Nair (which is hits on frame 10). So a faster option like airdodging would likely allow him to escape. I could also see correctly DI'ing as an option to escape. -- <span style="color:#000f55;font-family:Cursive;font-style:italic">Ethan</span><small>(<span style="color:Blue">Discussion</span>)</small> 23:22, 23 May 2016 (EDT)

Zero-to-death casual use definition
I was discussing the definition with a few members on the subreddit and discord and we determined the most common use of the term is the casual use that doesn't necessarily refer to an inescapable combo, but instead a series of hits that takes the opponent from 0% to being KOed without getting hit themselves.  A user disagreed, and when I edited the wiki they edited it back.  I'm not looking to get into an edit war, what are y'all thoughts?  Is the casual definition worth having on the page?

:I would say yes, but probably not folded into that paragraph as you were trying to do before. Probably might be better to go for the KIS (Keep It Simple) approach - use something along the lines of, "In more casual settings, a zero-to-death combo is sometimes referred to as any instance where a player is taken from 0% to a KO without them landing a retaliatory hit on their opponent, even if they manage to escape hitstun." And even though those are my own words, I still think it's a bit messy. I would definitely wait to hear what other people say before you go ahead and add anything back. ::Bumping this, this issue is still unresolved. <span style="color: black;">Black Vulpine</span> of the Furry Nation. :::My bad, didn't realize bumping was okay and thought 4 days with no responses was indicative that no one was going to weigh in.  I'll check back occasionally but I'll leave it to the experienced editors to sort it out. :<s>Time to use my new sysop powers to discuss this.</s> I agree with what Vulpine said, in that we can mention that the term is used in that context in casual play. However I don't agree with prioritize the usage of the term in casual play, we still should keep it mainly as the technical definition. For example we don't use "spike" to mean a downwards attack in all games, and instead as the technical definition (a downwards attack that cannot be meteor canceled), whereas casuals use spike and meteor smash interchangeably. ::I'm with you on casual vs technical, but despite writing it up as the "casual" definition I actually think at this point it's just the actual definition.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voK1QG49RAs This and other "0 to death" compilations show the commentators referring to them as 0-to-deaths even though there are clearly neutral resets.  Commentators can be wrong; but if the commentators call it that, reddit calls it that, and casual players call it that, who is still using the technical definition? Snitchface (talk) 10:05, June 17, 2020 (EDT)
:::You know, for that reason, I'm thinking perhaps we should add a new section on articles that are about technical terms, naming the section along the lines of "In casual play" or something like that, and go on to describe the usage there. That's probably a proposal for another day, but anyone like the sound of this idea? ::::I ain't fully opposed to it but yes, I say it would need a proper discussion first.
