::This isn't exactly within the realm of this wiki, but there are tons of Mario sites that debate on things such as Yoshi biology, such as where the wings come from and how strong their legs have to be to flutter. One of the common threads is the egg thing, which in my opinion can be explained as "both genders lay eggs but only the females can lay eggs with babies in them". Besides, Yoshis are shown being able to instantly produce eggs from anything (as well as out of nowhere) - that's not normal egg behaviour in the first place (which would be reproduction), so we can't assume any of our normal preconceptions (that is, laying eggs = female) should apply. We can keep the male pronoun usage, as it acts in a masculine manner, but the infobox is supposed to have accurate information, and saying that it's male isn't exactly accurate. :When I first suggested to place certain alts in the infobox, it was initially meant only for those that took up half of the lt selection. For example, half of Link’s costumes are BoTW, while the other half are his classic clothes. Half of Isabelle’s are her winter outfit, half are her summer outfit. Half of Corrin is female, half of Corrin is male. Etcetera. However, those against my proposal stated some valid points that it would be too difficult to decide what’s major. So, I extended it to those that had fighter spirits in Ultimate. The “does it take up half and only half” part is especially invalid now that Joker’s Student alt is only two of his costumes despite having different artwork, so that can’t be the only qualifier. Tunic of the Wild Link, Winter Isabelle, and all of those from past games are odd exceptions, as none of them have spirits, but the “does it take up of their alts” thing remains true, especially in cases like Wario for Brawl. Why do you keep saying stuff like Mario and Yoshi are good friends? Last I checked, good friends don’t beat the crap out of each other for no reason six games in a row (not to mention that Mario also tripped Yoshi for no reason in Smash 64’s commercial which also contradicts their friendship). You need to reword it and call them enemies. The thing that really bothers me to no end is that scene from Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s Subspace Emissary where Mario and Pit beat up Yoshi and turn him into a trophy, which also makes no sense considering their friendship in the Mario series. I know it was a misunderstanding, but why beat each other up over it? Couldn’t they just talk it out? It’s even worse when you consider that when Mario and Pit defeat Link and Yoshi, they don’t even bother to revive them, and instead have Kirby revive them. :The entire premise of the world of SSE is that the characters beat each other up on a regular basis for sport, it is what they do for fun and spectacle. This is shown in the first couple cutscenes and is explained on the DOJO!! that it is [https://www.smashbros.com/wii/en_us/gamemode/modea/modea01.html all they live for].
