I mean even in the competitive scene almost everybody has dropped PM for P+.

V-cancelling is not the only known Melee advanced technique to not return in PM/+. Sticky walking and Charlie walking come to mind, light-shielding mechanics, melee tether AT's... I'm sure there's more.
