I don't know the brand name or anything, but I have two third-party controllers that have turbo functions, and Brawl ignores them. I suggest that Brawl is really picky about controllers that don't "feel" exactly as it's expecting. What ScoreCounter said. The "Classic Controller" is an official name given to the device by Nintendo. The "GameCube controller" is not as Nintendo did not explicitly give it this name GameCube describes the type of controller and controller is a common noun.
